Job summary

The Hoxton Bengaluru City, part of Ennismore, is seeking a passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen leadership in Bengaluru city centre. You will oversee sections, develop the team, and ensure smooth service with high hygiene standards.

Collaborate with the Executive Chef on innovative menu concepts while upholding the brand DNA and guest experience that The Hoxton is known for. In the absence of the Executive Chef, you’ll lead the kitchen and drive excellence in every service.

Qualifications

• Proven Sous Chef experience in a busy kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Oversee kitchen sections and run operations as needed.

• Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu ideas and techniques.
• Act in the Executive Chef's absence to ensure kitchen continuity.
• Ensure every dish is delicious and consistent with the brand.

We are looking for a passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic team for The Hoxton Bengaluru City.

The Hoxton is opening its very first neighbourhood hotel in Asia, coming to India’s Bengaluru city centre in 2026. This is a major milestone for the brand as it ventures into a new continent entirely and we are now looking for a brilliant leadership team to help bring this lifestyle brand to the market.

Located in the heart of the city centre, The Hoxton, Bengaluru City will bring its undeniable brand DNA and guest experience to India’s “Silicon Valley”, a high-tech city filled with parks and gardens and known for its vibrant cafe and pub culture - very apt for a brand that was founded in London!

The hotel will feature 149 bedrooms in a variety of The Hoxton’s well-loved room categories and the lobby will have a vibrant all-day dining restaurant & bar. Topping off the hotel we will have a rooftop pool and bar, large scale function rooms and The Apartment - The Hoxton’s unique meeting & events concept

Job Description

What you’ll do…

• Bring delicious menu options to our guests’ tables by overseeing the running of the different sections and running where necessary.
• Nurture and develop the talent of the kitchen team, creating an environment that brings out the best in them and where they can be themselves.
• Make sure things are running without hitch, orders and deliveries are coming and going as needed, our service is smooth as chipotle butter, and our food hygiene standards are sky-high.
• Work with our Executive Chef on ideas and techniques that make our kitchen a creative, ever-changing environment where we’re always looking to make the best food out there.
• In the absence of the Executive Chef, you will act in their place to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.
• Pay attention to the details to ensure every dish served is as delicious as the one before!

Previous experience as a Sous Chef in a busy, bustling environment with freshness and provenance of ingredients as a key priority.

Passion for food is a given, knowing what’s hot, what’s not and who’s who.

Ability to take ownership of important issues, solve problems and make effective decisions.

Proven track record managing large kitchen teams.

A true passion for creativity whilst maintaining the integrity of our brand standards through the dishes on the menu.

A natural at leading and managing others, you lead by example and create an environment where your team can be their best self.
