Job summary

Miko in Mumbai focuses on sourcing and compliance for high‑volume consumer electronics. We are seeking a Sourcing & Compliance Engineer to drive regulatory alignment, supplier qualification, and quality improvements across the product lifecycle.

The role collaborates with engineering, operations, and quality teams to embed safety, environmental, and EMI/EMC standards from design through mass production, including audits and certification activities for global markets.

Qualifications

  • BE/BTech in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering with MBA or Master’s preferred.
  • 3–6 years of experience in electronics sourcing, supplier quality, or product compliance in consumer electronics or EMS/ODM.
  • Strong working knowledge of product safety and certification frameworks (CE, FCC, BIS, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with PCBA fabrication, EMS/ODM vendor management, and electronics component sourcing.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of compliance, EMI/EMC, and certification frameworks.
  • Proven ability to identify compliance gaps and implement systemic corrective actions.
  • Strong audit, documentation, and supplier management skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborative and outcome-driven, with a focus on quality, cost, and regulatory integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Identify applicable global regulations, standards, and directives for new and existing products (RoHS, REACH, WEEE, CE, FCC, BIS, EMI/EMC, etc.).
  • Ensure product and component compliance for safety, environmental, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC/EMI) requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, certification files, DoCs, and test reports across all geographies.
  • Liaise with third‑party labs, consultants, and certification agencies for product testing, validation, and regulatory approvals.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and assess their impact on existing SKUs, suppliers, and new developments.
  • Embed compliance and safety requirements early in the product design and sourcing cycle (DFMA/pre‑compliance stage).
  • Manage product lifecycle compliance including PCN/EOL documentation, material declarations, and change control.
  • Conduct supplier and factory audits to evaluate quality systems, process capability, and compliance readiness (ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
  • Verify material and component quality through inspection, documentation checks, and qualification processes (PPAP/FAI).
  • Lead CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) for supplier non‑conformities or audit findings.
  • Support production line setup, validation, and process improvement during new product introductions (NPI) and mass production.
  • Collaborate with quality teams to define inspection standards, incoming QC SOPs, and reliability test procedures.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, and Operations to ensure sourcing and compliance align with technical and business goals.
  • Provide compliance and safety inputs to design teams for new component development and alternate sourcing.
  • Support procurement and logistics teams with compliance documentation (e.g., COC, RoHS/REACH declarations, test certificates).
  • Act as a key interface between internal stakeholders and external partners for all compliance‑related matters.

Job Title: Sourcing & Compliance Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a Sourcing & Compliance Engineer with expertise in electronics sourcing, supplier audits, and regulatory compliance. This role ensures that all materials, components, and finished products meet global safety, EMI/EMC, and certification standards while supporting supplier qualification, quality improvement, and production line setups for high-volume consumer electronics.

The candidate will work closely with engineering, operations, and quality teams to ensure that compliance, reliability, and manufacturability are embedded throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
1. Compliance & Certification (Primary Focus)

Identify applicable global regulations, standards, and directives for new and existing products (RoHS, REACH, WEEE, CE, FCC, BIS, EMI/EMC, etc.).

Ensure product and component compliance for safety, environmental, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC/EMI) requirements.

Prepare and maintain technical documentation, certification files, DoCs, and test reports across all geographies.
