Job summary

WPP is looking for a Sourcing and Procurement Analyst based in Mumbai, India. Job description

Sourcing and Procurement Analyst (Strategic Sourcing)
Responsibilities
  • Proficient in strategic sourcing: analyzing spend data, creating internal and external category profiles, market intelligence reports, opportunity assessments, devising category strategies, identifying sourcing levers for respective market categories, analyzing costing, and conducting structured supplier negotiations.
  • Understand contracting nuances and execute agreements with suppliers in coordination with legal teams, managing statutory compliances and sustainability requirements.
  • Execute projects through the GEP Source to Contract platform, performing procurement risk, governance, and compliance activities, and supporting procurement operational activities.
  • Coordinate day‑to‑day procurement activities, manage workloads, prioritize tasks, and report progress to the sourcing and procurement manager.
  • Ensure high‑quality stakeholder engagement both internally (procurement) and externally (suppliers, agencies, business contacts).
  • Support the team lead in managing agreed objectives and deliverables, providing timely updates until project closure.
  • Collect, communicate, and document stakeholder requirements.
  • Execute strategic sourcing projects in coordination with category teams and the sourcing & procurement manager.
  • Analyze buying patterns and volumes to determine appropriate buying channels (catalogue, P‑card, PO purchase, etc.).
  • Provide specialist administrative support throughout tendering projects/RFPs, ensuring process integrity.
  • Maintain an audit trail for each project and ensure required documentation is in place.
  • Respond professionally and efficiently to stakeholder clarification questions and other inquiries.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in strategic sourcing and procurement methodology and processes.
  • Experience working on Source-to-Contract platforms, specifically GEP S2C.
  • Demonstrated ability to devise and provide insight on spend categories and supply markets based on internal and external category profiles.
  • Strong procurement operational skills, legal understanding, and RFI/RFP experience.
