Job summary

Global Nurse Force is seeking experienced Sonographers to join a leading NHS Trust in the UK. The role involves performing high-quality ultrasound examinations, providing accurate clinical assessment and reporting, and delivering excellent patient care.

You will collaborate with radiologists and multidisciplinary teams, maintain patient safety and confidentiality, and contribute to teaching and quality assurance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Degree in Radiography or equivalent required.
• Postgraduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound or DMU or equivalent.
• Proven ultrasound experience with independent scanning.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of ultrasound examinations.
• Contribute to General/Abdominal, O&G, Vascular and Paediatric ultrasound as appropriate.
• Provide accurate clinical reports and support clinical decision-making.
• Maintain high standards of patient care, safety and confidentiality.
• Work with radiologists and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in teaching and mentoring of junior staff.
• Engage in quality assurance and service development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a wide range of ultrasound examinations.
• General/Abdominal and specialist ultrasound including O&G, Small Parts, Vascular and Paediatric, depending on experience.
• Perform and interpret ultrasound examinations independently.
• Provide accurate clinical reports and support clinical decision-making.
• Maintain high standards of patient care, safety and confidentiality.
• Work effectively with radiologists and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support teaching and mentoring of junior/student staff.
• Participate in quality assurance, audit and service development.

Requirements:

• Relevant degree in Radiography, Radiology, Medical Imaging or equivalent.
• Postgraduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound / Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound / DMU or equivalent.
• Strong clinical ultrasound experience.
• Experience in relevant specialist areas such as General/Abdominal, O&G, Vascular, Small Parts or Paediatric Ultrasound.
• Independent scanning and reporting experience.
• Relevant ultrasound accreditation.
• Good communication, clinical judgement and patient-care skills.
