Job summary

Qt Group Oyj in Bengaluru, India, is seeking a Solutions Engineer — MCU to port Qt for MCUs to new silicon platforms, design display adaptation layers, and resolve complex hardware‑software integration challenges.

You will act as the primary technical SME for customer engagements, deliver workshops and demos, and collaborate with silicon vendors and internal teams to bridge Qt capabilities with MCU constraints. Strong C/C++ and RTOS experience are required.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of hands-on embedded software experience with ARM Cortex‑M devices.
  • Experience porting or adapting embedded stacks in bare‑metal and RTOS environments (FreeRTOS and/or Zephyr).
  • Hands‑on experience with TFT/LCD display integration: framebuffer management, pixel formats, display controller configuration, SPI/I2C/UART/DMA.

Responsibilities

  • Port Qt for MCUs to new microcontroller platforms—from BSP bring‑up and HAL integration through to display adaptation and validated performance on target hardware.
  • Design and optimise display and graphics pipelines for memory‑constrained MCUs, including DMA-driven transfers and asset optimisation.
  • Act as the primary technical SME for customer engagements, proofs‑of‑concept projects, and evaluations — delivering workshops, demos, and training to engineering teams worldwide.
  • Debug complex issues spanning hardware, firmware, BSP, and UI stack layers using JTAG/SWD, logic analysers, and oscilloscopes; provide root‑cause analysis and drive resolutions with product engineering.
  • Author application notes, porting guides, and best‑practice documentation; support the sales team with technical proposals and RFP responses for Qt for MCUs solutions.

Job description

About Qt

Want to hear a secret? Qt is everywhere. Our scalable and reliable software tools power billions of devices and applications worldwide, transforming complexity into clarity and enabling innovation at a scale. From smart devices to critical systems, our technology is behind the experiences people rely on every day. We’re a global team driven by curiosity, collaboration, and a shared mission to build what matters. Qt is where software excellence begins—and where your next chapter starts.

About the Role

Qt for MCUs is on a mission to bring Qt’s industry-leading UI framework to the most resource‑constrained microcontrollers on the market — enabling rich, responsive user experiences on devices where every byte of Flash and every millisecond of CPU time matters. Our team works directly with the world’s leading silicon vendors and embedded product companies to make that vision a reality.

As a Solutions Engineer — MCU, you are the technical heart of our customer engagements. You will port Qt for MCUs to new silicon platforms, design display adaptation layers, solve complex hardware-software integration challenges, and serve as the go-to subject matter expert for MCU-related opportunities across sales, pre‑sales, and product engineering.

This role is located in Bengaluru, India.

What You’ll Do

  • Port Qt for MCUs to new microcontroller platforms — from BSP bring‑up and HAL integration through to display adaptation, framebuffer management, and validated performance on target hardware

  • Design and optimise display and graphics pipelines for memory‑constrained MCUs, including DMA‑driven transfers, partial rendering, and asset optimisation using the Qt for MCUs toolchain

  • Act as the primary technical SME for customer engagements, proof‑of‑concept projects, and evaluations — delivering workshops, demos, and training to engineering teams worldwide

  • Debug complex issues spanning hardware, firmware, BSP, and UI stack layers using JTAG/SWD debuggers, logic analysers, and oscilloscopes; provide root‑cause analysis and drive resolution with product engineering

  • Author application notes, porting guides, and best‑practice documentation; support the sales team with technical proposals and RFP responses for Qt for MCUs solutions

  • Collaborate closely with silicon vendors (Infineon, Renesas, NXP, STMicroelectronics) and internal engineering teams to bridge cutting‑edge Qt technology with real‑world MCU constraints

What You Bring to the Table

  • 5–8 years of hands‑on embedded software engineering experience with a strong focus on microcontroller‑based products and ARM Cortex‑M class devices (STM32, NXP i.MX RT, Renesas RA/RH)

  • Proven experience porting or adapting embedded software stacks in bare‑metal and RTOS environments (FreeRTOS and/or Zephyr), with a solid grasp of MCU memory architecture

  • Hands‑on experience with TFT/LCD display integration: framebuffer management, pixel format handling, display controller configuration, and serial protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, DMA)

  • Experience with at least one embedded GUI framework — Qt for MCUs, LVGL, Embedded Wizard, or STemWin — and proficiency in C and C++ with CMake‑based build systems

  • Strong communication skills in English; ability to translate deep technical knowledge into clear guidance for both engineering and commercial audiences

Bonus Points For…

  • Experience with additional MCU families (ESP32/Espressif, PIC/Microchip) or silicon vendor BSP ecosystems such as STM32CubeIDE, MCUXpresso, e2studio, or ModusToolbox

  • Prior Solutions Engineering, Field Application Engineering, or other customer‑facing technical role experience

  • Familiarity with Qt Widgets or Qt Quick/QML on higher‑powered targets, and/or contributions to open‑source embedded or GUI projects
