Job summary

Siemens India seeks a Protection & Control Engineer in Maharashtra to lead relay protection and control engineering activities for high voltage substations and transmission projects. You will apply your knowledge of protective relaying and control systems to deliver basic design and checks for detail design, coordinating with project teams through design, execution and commissioning phases.

Qualifications

• BE Electrical or equivalent; 4-6 years of protection/control experience.
• Experience with ANSI/IEC standards.
• Experience with protection relays (SEL, Siemens, GE) and configurations.
• Know-How in substation protection and metering diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis and design of single line diagram.
• Develop concept of substation relaying & metering diagrams (AC schematic) and DC schematic for basic design.
• Produce protection and control designs for LVAC, LVDC and UPS equipment.
• Produce CT/PT and cable sizing calculations.
• Produce relay configurations and associated documentation.
• Produce Engineering and Test Specifications for new and existing solutions.
• Prepare specification & Bill of Material for Protection/Control/Metering/RTU/ Communication Panels.
• Develop concept Diagram for substation control system and Communications interfaces including RTUs, HMIs, and IEDs.
• Develop Protection and Control Panel layouts.
• Develop high level Cable Schedule for Substation.
• Perform Factory Acceptance Test for Protection and Control Panels.
• Review work performed by others.
• Coordinate with project team during execution and commissioning.
• Understand customer requirements and align with Siemens solutions.

Protection & Control Engineer is responsible for relay protection and control engineering activities, including basic design and check of detail design for high voltage substation and transmission projects. This position will offer the ability to directly apply candidates knowledge of protective relaying and controls systems in substation and transmission projects.

Your new role challenging and future- oriented:

• Perform analysis and design of single line diagram.
• Develop concept of substation relaying & metering diagrams (i.e. A.C. schematic diagrams), and D.C. Schematic for basic design.
• Responsible to produce protection and control designs for LVAC, LVDC and UPS equipment associated with LTS.
• Responsible for the production C.T./V.T. and cable sizing calculations.
• Responsible for the production relay configurations and associated documentation.
• Production of Engineering and Test Specifications for new and existing solutions.
• Prepare specification & Bill of Material for Protection/Control/Metering/RTU/ Communication Panels
• Develop concept Diagram for substation control system and Communications interfaces including RTUs, HMIs, and IEDs.
• Develop Protection and Control Panel layouts.
• Develop high level Cable Schedule for Substation.
• Perform Factory Acceptance Test for Protection and Control Panels.
• Perform reviews of work performed by others.
• Work closely with other engineering and design and project team members to coordinate overall design and requirements during execution and commissioning phases.
• Understand and also clarify customer requirements, driving those expectations into Siemens solutions.

We dont need superheroes, just super minds:

• 4-6 years of experience with a focus on protection/control/communications design for substations.
• B.E. Electrical or equivalent
• 8-10 Yrs. of Experience
• Experience in writing and providing support documentation for relay calculations.
• Knowledge on ANSI standards, IEC standards knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with various vendor protective relay equipment typically used in substation. protection, including SEL, Siemens, GE.
• Know-How in Configuration Tools for protection relays from different vendors (SEL, Siemens, Hitachi, GE, Schneider ) and control systems is preferable.
• Expertise with Ebase and Auto-CAD.
• Hands-on experience with the below shall be preferred:
• DIGSI-4 & DIGSI-5
• Relay Configuration tool of GE, ABB or equivalent.
• Must have Relevant experience in working with System Integrators
• Hands on experience and knowledge on working of different relays application.
