Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. in Bengaluru seeks a seasoned Solution Architect with HCL Commerce expertise to drive design and evolution of a multi-tier B2B commerce platform.

You will steer architecture decisions across WCS, Spring Boot services, and Next.js storefronts, ensuring consistent routing, catalog, cart, and order flows. You will direct implementation strategies, review integration contracts, and guide cross-functional teams on performance, security, and operability while coaching senior

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12–20 years in professional software engineering with architect-level experience on large-scale multi-tier systems.
  • 8+ years with HCL Commerce and/or IBM WebSphere Commerce (WCS) 8.x.
  • 8+ years using Java/J2EE and OOD on large IT systems, preferably WAS.
  • 5+ years Spring / Spring MVC and Spring Boot architecture, including service boundaries and APIs.
  • 5+ years designing web services (REST and SOAP) with contract specs for teams.
  • Hands-on production architecture with Next.js/React, including routing, data fetching, and storefront performance; TypeScript preferred.
  • 5+ years using Git and Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence).
  • Experience with B2B commerce, punchout, org/user models, and contract/pricing complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain target and transitional architecture for a multi-tier B2B commerce platform.
  • Direct dual-run/strangler pattern designs, deciding transitions between WCS, Next.js, and services.
  • Review designs, interface contracts, and integration diagrams for performance, security, and operability issues.
  • Set coding and design standards for Commerce customization, Spring Boot services, and Next.js storefronts.
  • Oversee integration with ERP, payments, search, CMS, and punchout/customer systems.
  • Collaborate across teams on data conversion, testing, and cut-over activities.
  • Coach engineers and document architecture decisions with context, options, and consequences.
