Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Solution Architect - VP, Liquidity Management to set architectural direction for the liquidity platform and drive modernization across core banking, payments, finance and treasury ecosystems.

You will lead enterprise scale architecture, mentor senior architects, and partner with risk and regulatory stakeholders to ensure compliant, scalable and auditable solutions. The role is based in Pune and demands strong leadership and delivery mindset.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in liquidity management, including cash flow forecasting and intraday liquidity.
  • Proven track record in enterprise scale architecture leadership for banking platforms.

Job description

Join us as a Solution Architect - VP, Liquidity Management at Barclays, where you will set the strategic direction and architectural vision for our Liquidity Management platform. You will spearhead the evolution of enterprise‑critical financial systems, driving platform modernization, regulatory robustness, and engineering excellence across the organization.You will harness modern architectural paradigms and cloud‑native technologies to design and govern highly resilient, scalable, and auditable solutions, ensuring accurate interest computation, regulatory compliance, and seamless integration across core banking, payments, finance and treasury ecosystems. You will act as a senior technology leader, influencing strategy, mentoring architects, and partnering closely with business, risk, and regulatory stakeholders.

To be successful as a Solution Architect -VP, Liquidity Management, you should have experience with:
  • Deep liquidity management and interest calculation, including cash flow forecasting, intraday liquidity, Single & Multi-Currency Pooling and regulatory drivers.
  • Enterprise‑scale solution architecture leadership, defining target architectures, design standards, and architectural governance for complex banking platforms.
  • Complex integration and data architecture, integrating core banking, payments, APIs, and event‑driven platforms while managing high‑volume, mission‑critical transactional data.
  • Cloud and platform transformation, leading large‑scale implementations on Azure, AWS, or GCP with strong focus on resilience, security, performance, and regulatory compliance.
Some Other Highly Valued Skills May Include
  • Experience with financial instruments and balance‑sheet products impacting liquidity and interest, including deposits, loans, and derivatives.
  • Strong data and database architecture expertise across enterprise relational and NoSQL platforms.
  • Proven leadership in regulatory‑driven design, ensuring auditability, traceability, model transparency, and compliance (e.g., Basel III).
  • Excellent senior stakeholder engagement and technology leadership, including mentoring architects, influencing roadmaps, and driving cross‑functional alignment.

The role is based out of Pune.

Purpose of the role

To lead the portfolio management team in the delivery of successful projects, while ensuring that portfolio management processes and practices are aligned with controls and governance standards and that projects are aligned with the organisation’s strategic objectives.

Accountabilities
  • Leading of portfolio management team, including setting of portfolio vision, management of portfolio performance, and provision of guidance and support to portfolio analysts.
  • Monitoring of portfolio performance, including tracking of project progress, managing budgets, identification of thematic risks and issues, and reporting on portfolio status to senior management.
  • Management of portfolio documentation, including aggregation of portfolio book of work, schedules, and budgets, and ensuring that portfolio documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Facilitation of portfolio governance, including ensuring that projects are aligned with the organisation’s strategic objectives, aligned with the controls and governance standards and that portfolio thematic risks and issues are managed effectively.
  • Managing the portfolio Book of Work outlining the sequence and dependencies of change initiatives, considering factors like resource availability, stakeholder buy‑in, and potential risks.
  • Facilitation of change management activities, to ensure that change initiatives are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.
  • Continuous improvement of portfolio management practices, including identification of areas for improvement and implementation of changes to improve portfolio performance.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners, to ensure that portfolio management practices are aligned with their needs and expectations.
  • Development of portfolio management processes that are aligned with controls and governance standards and that support the delivery of successful projects.
