Job summary

Volga Infotech seeks an experienced Solution Architect to design and drive enterprise architectures across cloud, data, and AI/ML initiatives for Pharma/Life Sciences clients. You will lead architecture decisions, guide delivery teams, and collaborate with sales to shape proposals and RFP responses.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in enterprise design, strong leadership, deep cloud platform experience (AWS/Azure/GCP) and hands-on guidance for scalable, regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Create and/or drive the creation of architectures aligned with project roadmaps, platform strategies, governance policies, and standards.
• Experience working with global Pharma and Life Sciences clients, with an understanding of their business, technology, and regulatory environments.
• Ensure the feasibility of our products/services, understanding business needs, and making informed technology decisions.
• Actively participate in the development phase of project delivery, advising projects on technology and architecture trends for decision making.
• Provide technical leadership and coaching for team members.
• Willingness to step up in abstraction level to solve organizational issues and drive results in big projects.
• Provide direct sales support for the sales team by building solutions, providing solution designs/recommendation presentations, and offering general Q&A support for prospective customers.
• Work closely with the Business Development and Pre-sales teams to support client proposals, RFP/RFI responses, solution presentations, effort estimations, and technical discussions.
• Collect and analyze prospective customer environment data (current infrastructure, application products implemented, product customizations) and assist in mapping business needs for the purpose of recommending solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate technology options, define solution architecture, and ensure scalability, security, performance, and maintainability of proposed solutions.
• Design and implement scalable solutions leveraging cloud, data, and AI/ML technologies based on client and business requirements.

Solution Architect

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience in designing and implementing enterprise-level solutions.
• Strong understanding of architecture domains: Cloud, Security, Data, and AI.
• Proven experience with large-scale system integration and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with enterprise software architectural patterns and frameworks.
• Knowledge of both relational and NoSQL databases.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms and technologies, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), along with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake.
• Experience integrating enterprise applications and data platforms with Data Science and Machine Learning (DS/ML) platforms and tools such as Dataiku, Alteryx, Databricks, KNIME, or similar technologies.
• Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines to support automated application deployment, integration, and release management.
• Experience working with large-scale databases and data platforms, including database integration, performance optimization, scalability, and designing infrastructure to support growing data volumes and workloads.
• In-depth understanding of data privacy regulations and experience in regulated environments.
• Experience in Clinical Data Management (CDM) within the Pharma/Life Sciences domain is preferred, with an understanding of clinical data workflows and systems.
• Proficient in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience as a business-focused architect at an enterprise level.
• Proven ability to create proof of concepts, demos, and scripts from scratch or by leveraging reusable components.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in providing technical guidance and mentoring to team members.
• Ability to work effectively with and manage stakeholders from all levels of an organization.
• Strong client-facing skills, with the ability to understand business requirements, translate them into technology solutions, and communicate architecture decisions effectively.
