Job summary

Neo4j is seeking a highly technical professional services engineer to accelerate adoption of AuraDB and self-managed Neo4j deployments across AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will design secure networks, guide data modelling, and ensure production readiness with IaC-driven configurations.

From onboarding to handover, you’ll automate setups, enforce least-privilege access with SSO/RBAC, and collaborate with Cloud Operations to deliver rapid value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in a highly technical, customer-facing role.
• Hands-on experience with production workloads in at least one major cloud provider ecosystem (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Deep technical proficiency in core networking infrastructure, including VPC/VNet architectures, routing protocols, peering, and PrivateLink/Private Endpoints.
• Proven track record implementing Enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM), including SSO (OIDC/SAML) and RBAC design.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex technical discovery sessions with enterprise customers to align on success criteria, KPIs, milestones, and mitigation strategies for project risks.
• Guide the instantiation of Neo4j AuraDB environments or self-managed clusters across AWS, Azure, and GCP, establishing secure network architectures utilizing private endpoints and IP allow lists.
• Implement baseline system hardening, TLS/SSL termination, encryption-at-rest protocols, and enforce least-privileged access through enterprise SSO and RBAC configurations.
• Architect robust data ingestion pipelines (bulk imports, stream processing, Change Data Capture) and advise development teams on Neo4j driver optimization, connection pooling, and retry logic.
• Assist customers in configuring enterprise observability tools for logs and metrics, while delivering best‑practice workshops on Cypher query performance and backup/restore planning.
• Produce high-quality technical deliverables—including architecture diagrams, Architectural Decision Records (ADRs), and a next‑step backlog to seamlessly transition customers to Professional Services and Cloud Operations teams.
• Synthesise field insights and lessons learned to continuously iterate and optimise Neo4j’s global technical onboarding methodology and frameworks.

About The Job

You will play a critical role in supporting our enterprise customers early in their journey to ensure the absolute success of their architectural foundations. As a key member of the Professional Services team, you will bridge the gap between a signed contract and a production-ready ecosystem. You will serve as the trusted technical advisor, leading new customers through critical infrastructure milestones—including cloud provisioning, security hardening, networking, data modelling, and application integration. Sitting at the heart of our customer-first culture, you will shape tailored onboarding blueprints, orchestrate complex delivery workstreams, and guarantee a predictable, accelerated time‑to‑value. For our fully managed AuraDB cloud customers, you will leverage automation to optimise data modelling, enterprise connectivity, and application health. For self‑managed environments, you will apply rigorous Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and platform engineering practices to deliver secure, resilient graph clusters across hybrid and multi-cloud architectures.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in a highly technical, customer-facing role (e.g., Onboarding Engineering, Customer Success Engineering, DevOps/Platform Engineering, or Technical Consulting).
• Hands-on experience with production workloads in at least one major cloud provider ecosystem (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Deep technical proficiency in core networking infrastructure, including VPC/VNet architectures, routing protocols, peering, and PrivateLink/Private Endpoints.
• Proven track record implementing Enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM), including SSO (OIDC/SAML) and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) design.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) utilising Terraform, alongside configuration management tools like Ansible.
• Experience with Linux administration, containerisation, and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, or managed container environments).
• Hands-on experience with graph databases (ideally Neo4j) and proficiency in database querying and performance tuning (e.g., Cypher query optimisation).
• Familiarity with modern observability stacks (Grafana/Prometheus, Datadog, CloudWatch, Splunk) and enterprise data movement frameworks (ETL/CDC platforms).
• Exposure to cloud compliance frameworks (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA) and data residency deployment patterns.
