Job summary

Allianz Group is seeking a seasoned Solution Architect to design scalable, secure IT solutions across cloud and on-premises environments. You will work with stakeholders and IT teams to map business processes to technical architectures, emphasizing Azure services, containerized workloads, and cost-efficient designs.

The role requires 10+ years of IT experience with 5+ years in solution architecture, strong DevOps proficiency, and expertise in Azure, AKS, Terraform, and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, computer science, computer engineering, or similar.
• Overall experience of 10+ years and 5+ years of relevant experience as Solution Architect.
• 5+ years of hands-on application development experience using Java and/or Python on cloud platforms is essential.
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Bicep/ARM), and Git-based workflows.
• Deep, hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure services, Functions (compute, storage, networking, identity/Entra ID, PaaS) and cloud solution design.
• Proven experience designing, deploying, and operating containerized workloads on Kubernetes, ideally AKS.
• Familiarity with cloud cost optimization (FinOps) and designing for both performance and cost efficiency.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and highly skilled Solution Architect to join our dynamic team. As a Solution Architect, you will work closely with stakeholders and IT teams to design scalable, resilient, secure, and cost-efficient IT solutions across cloud and infrastructure platforms that meet current and future business needs.

You will

• Responsible for designing scalable, reusable, and efficient IT solutions that meet current and future business needs.

• Design and govern end-to-end solutions on Microsoft Azure ,Azure Functions, including compute, storage, networking, identity, and container platforms .

• Develop a robust understanding of business processes and effectively map them to IT solutions.

• Architect and optimize infrastructure and platform designs for high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery across on-premises and cloud environments.

• Define and drive performance engineering, capacity planning, scalability, and cost optimization (FinOps) across the solution landscape.

• Good to have knowledge about GIS and GIS related service including ESRI enterprise, ArcGIS Pro,Geoserver,Qgis.

• High proficiency in Python and/or GoLang, with the ability to read, debug, optimize, and contribute directly to application code when required.

• Establish infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, containerization, and observability standards in partnership with platform and DevOps teams.

• Embed security, compliance, and regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR, DORA) into solution and infrastructure designs by default.

• Explore and pilot AI and agentic AI use cases, assessing where LLM-based and agent-driven automation can add value to the solution landscape (a plus).

• Work closely with Product Owners and Enterprise Architects to understand and translate different objectives into technical requirements.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

• Ability to stay updated with the latest technology trends and apply them effectively.

• Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks is a plus.

• Demonstrated experience in performance engineering, scalability, and reliability — including load testing, monitoring/observability, tuning, and capacity planning.

• Familiarity with cloud cost optimization (FinOps) and designing for both performance and cost efficiency.

• Exposure to AI, GenAI, or agentic AI use cases (e.g. LLM integration, RAG, or agent-based automation) is a strong plus.

• Proven experience with solutioning with strong understanding of software architecture and network design concepts.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to comprehend complex and diverse business domain challenges.

• Work closely with Product Owners and Enterprise Architects to understand and translate different objectives into technical requirements.

• Provide subject matter expertise for application security, performance, and scalability.

• Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to map them to IT solutions.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

• Ability to stay updated with the latest technology trends and apply them effectively.

• Familiar with Agile methodology and Agile working environment.
