Job summary

TalentXO is seeking a Senior Data Architect to own end-to-end data architecture on AWS and Snowflake. You will design scalable, secure data platforms, define data models, and lead data pipelines across ingestion, storage, and consumption layers.

You will mentor engineers, drive performance optimizations, and establish governance and security patterns while partnering with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in data engineering and architecture.
• Experience designing scalable, secure data platform architectures across ingestion, storage, transformation and consumption layers.
• Hands-on with AWS and Snowflake, including DBT, SQL, Python, and data governance patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, secure data platform architectures on AWS and Snowflake.
• Define data models (dimensional, data vault, medallion) and DBT project structure and standards.
• Architect batch and near-real-time data pipelines with orchestration and error handling.
• Lead performance optimization and cost monitoring for data platforms.

• Review designs, mentor engineers, and resolve blockers.

in delivering a scalable, secure, and cost-efficient data platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design scalable, secure data platform architectures on AWS and Snowflake, covering ingestion, storage, transformation, and consumption layers
• Define data models (dimensional, data vault, medallion) and DBT project structure, naming conventions, and coding standards
• Architect batch and near-real-time data pipelines, including source integration, orchestration, error handling, and recovery
• Lead performance optimization: warehouse sizing, clustering, query tuning, materialization strategy, and cost monitoring
• Define data governance, security, and access control patterns (RBAC, masking, row-level security, encryption)
• Review designs and code, mentor engineers, and resolve technical blockers
• Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and delivery leads to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Produce architecture documentation, design decisions, and reference patterns

Requirements

Ideal Candidate

• Strong Solution Architect Profile with AWS/Snowflake background and end-to-end data architecture experience
• Mandatory (Experience 1): Must have minimum 12+ years of experience in data engineering and architecture
• Mandatory (Experience 2): Must have experience designing scalable, secure data platform architectures covering ingestion, storage, transformation, and consumption layers
• Mandatory (Experience 3): Must have experience defining data models (dimensional, data vault, medallion) and architecting batch/near-real-time data pipelines
• Mandatory (Tech skill 1): Must have hands-on AWS (S3, IAM, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis/MSK, Step Functions, CloudWatch)
• Mandatory (Tech skill 2): Must have hands-on Snowflake (architecture, RBAC, Snowpipe, Streams, performance tuning, cost management)
• Mandatory (Tech skill 3): Must have hands-on DBT (Core/Cloud), SQL, and Python
• Mandatory (Tech skill 4): Must have experience with Airflow (or equivalent), Terraform, and CI/CD for data platforms
• Mandatory (Skill 1): Must be able to define data governance, security, and access control patterns (RBAC, masking, row-level security)
• Mandatory (Skill 2): Must be able to lead performance optimization, mentor engineers, and partner with business stakeholders
• Preferred (Certification): SnowPro Advanced certification (Architect)
• Preferred (Experience 1): Experience with Data catalog and lineage tools (Collibra, Alation) and Snowflake Cortex
