Job summary

Airbus India Private Limited in Bengaluru is seeking an Architect to join Digital Archiving, helping modernize the Long Term Archiving (LTA) solution landscape. You will be joining a team focused on building, maintaining and operating the central archiving solution for Airbus Commercial.

You will lead design, development and testing of Java backend systems using Spring, Hibernate and microservices, with DevSecOps and cloud focus; occasional travel to Europe is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of software development experience with Java and backend architectures.
• Strong experience with Spring, Hibernate, Maven, REST APIs and microservices.
• Proficient in DevSecOps, CI/CD, AWS, Docker and Kubernetes; able to lead design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, document, support and operate libraries and frameworks.
• Lead the design and development of Java backends and collaborative APIs.
• Mentor junior developers and drive technical best practices and code reviews.
• Work with Product to refine roadmaps and manage technical debt.

Job Description: Description of the job A vacancy for an Architect in Airina has arisen within Airbus India in Bangalore. You will be joining “Digital Archiving” and helping us with modernizing our Long Term Archiving (LTA) solution landscape. The “Digital Archiving” is building, maintaining and operating the central archiving solution for Airbus Commercial. We are running the AIRINA project in SAFe mode and following DevSecOps principals.

Tasks & accountabilities

• Involvement in the full delivery lifecycle – responsible for designing, implementing, testing, documenting, supporting and operating libraries & frameworks.
• Designing solutions to meet functional and non-functional requirements at scale for business needs
• Develops design specifications and parameters that are in compliance with products’ architectural blueprints.
• Reviewing application requirements and interface designs.
• Coordinates the functional and technical integration
• Lead the design, development and testing of applications and Collaborates with other developers and provides significant contributions to develop specifications, to resolve business client questions, problems solving, bug fixing, testing, and investigating platform issues.
• Analyze the technology environment, conduct an architectural system evaluation (including security risks) and take part in the technology selection process
• Uses technical knowledge, creativity and company practices and priorities to obtain solutions to complex problems that are undefined and Unknown
• Work with stakeholders to manage Technical debt
• Creating development documentation and keeping documentation up to date
• Meeting with the development team to discuss user interface ideas and applications.
• Reviewing application requirements and interface designs.
• Mentor and coach junior developers, provide guidance on best practices and coding standards.
• Setup best practices for conduct code reviews, identify areas for product improvement
• Work cohesively with Product manager to drive Technical refinement and backlog grooming
• Work on Technical roadmapping with Architects
• Identify the need and drive technical workshops and share knowledge with the teams and contribute in creating best practices.
• This role will involve some travel for business in Europe and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

The skills you bring Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related discipline preferred Must have for Java Backend Development 10+ years of experience in Software development (Java development needed including experience with JDK 8+ preferred) and a strong experience using Spring Framework Strong understanding of Java programming language and its ecosystem, including Springboot, Hibernate, Maven etc., Understanding of Dev Sec Ops pipeline and routines Proficiency in front-end development using React framework, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3 and Java Script Experience with RESTFul APIs, SOAP based services, microservices architecture and Cloud platforms(preferably AWS). Good understanding of design patterns, system design, scalability and performance, security design, integration design, data structures and algorithms. Solid experience with quality processes and Java/Spring test technologies and automation (Junit, TestNG, Postman, Selenium) Solid understanding of database technologies. Experience with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Agile solutions management suite like Confluence, VersionOne Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and lead technical discussions. Strong understanding of software development and design concepts and principles Experience developing multithreaded and scalable applications and microservice services in Java / Spring Framework Good to have is experience with following products MarkLogic NOSQL Database Camunda (BPMN Process Engine / orchestrator) RedHat Openshift RDBMS: MS-SQL, PostgreSQL JavaScript and related frameworks and libraries Knowledge on some of the following software development products and tools: Monitoring: Splunk, Grafana / Prometheus Versioning: GitHub Build & Package: Maven, Gradle, Artifactory CI/CD: Jenkins, Ansible Agile Project Management: VersionOne, Confluence Nice-to-have for the future Experience with Cloud environments like Amazon Web Services, Azure or Google Cloud Experience with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Mesosphere Technical Leadership skills Experience in technically leading a team of 8 to 10 developers Ability to take technical ownership and work with team members Ability to be a Technical SPOC with various global stakeholders Ability to lead changes or new ideas, way of working and align team members for the common vision English: advanced level both verbal and written
