SOLR Support Engineer

Job summary

S&P CAPITALIQ seeks a production-support specialist to ensure the health and continuous improvement of the search infrastructure. You will profile Java-based applications, diagnose issues with APM tools, and drive best practices for design and capacity planning.

You will lead outages, coordinate rapid resolutions, and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for Solr environments. Strong scripting (Shell/Python/Perl) and Linux expertise are essential, with Java experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in CS or related field preferred.
• Experience supporting a customer-facing, always-up production environment.
• 3+ years of Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience.
• 3+ years of experience with Solr index/search and Tomcat.
• Experience with automation using Puppet or Chef for provisioning and config mgmt.
• Experience in support, tuning, and hardening Linux OS.
• Scripting in Shell, Python, or Perl; Java experience a plus.
