Job summary

SYSTRA India seeks a Solar PV Consultant (Team Leader) for a forthcoming renewable energy project in South Asia. You will lead technical guidance on utility-scale solar PV, review layouts and designs, assess site suitability, and ensure quality and safety compliance across complex terrains.

Strong leadership and collaboration with owners and contractors are essential. The role requires a Bachelor’s in electrical engineering, a Master’s preferred in Renewable Energy/Power Systems, and 10+ years

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Master's degree preferred in Renewable Energy or Power Systems.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in renewable energy projects.
• At least 5 years in utility-scale ground-mounted solar PV projects.
• Experience with solar PV design, construction support and commissioning.
• Preference for experience in hilly terrains with slopes >10 degrees.

Responsibilities

We are seeking applications for the position of Solar PV Consultant (Team Leader) for upcoming renewable energy project in south Asia.

Missions/Main Duties

• Provide technical guidance on the development and implementation of utility-scale solar PV projects.
• Review and optimize solar PV plant layouts, electrical system designs, and engineering specifications.
• Assess site suitability, energy yield estimates, and design parameters.
• Advise on the design and implementation of solar PV projects located in hilly or complex terrains.
• Support preparation and review of technical specifications, bid documents, and tender evaluation criteria.
• Conduct technical reviews to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout project execution.
• Verify compliance with environmental, social, health, and safety requirements.
• Support local teams through technical guidance and mentoring.
• Collaborate with project owners, government agencies, contractors, lenders, and development partners.
• Provide inputs during meetings, workshops, and technical discussions.

Profile/Skills

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Master's Degree inRenewable Energy, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field will be preferred.
• Professional certifications related to solar energy, renewable energy, or project management will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in renewable energy projects.
• At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in the engineering, design, and implementation of utility-scale ground-mounted solar PV projects.
• Proven experience in solar PV project development, design review, construction support, and commissioning.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in solar PV projects located in hilly terrains with average site slopes exceeding 10 degrees.
