Job summary

SBI Payments is seeking a Software Tester (Payments / POS / UPI) based in Mumbai. You will work under AVP Solutions & Innovation, ensuring robust testing across payment workflows, POS, and UPI integrations. The role requires hands-on API testing, regression testing, and adherence to RBI/PCI-DSS standards.

The candidate should hold a B.E./B.Tech in CS/IT/Electronics or equivalent with 4–6 years in software testing within fintech. Familiarity with JIRA and Agile/Scrum is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science / IT / Electronics / Engineering or equivalent.
• 4-6 years of software testing experience, preferably fintech or payment systems.
• Hands-on experience in functional, regression, and API testing using Postman.

Responsibilities

• Testing Planning & Execution: design, develop, and execute test cases based on requirements.
• Functional & Regression Testing: end-to-end testing of payment applications and flows.
• API Testing: validate APIs using Postman; verify structures, data accuracy and errors.
• Defect Management: log, track, and retest defects using JIRA/Bugzilla with developers.
• Integration Testing: test with banks, gateways and third-party systems.
• UAT Support: assist business teams during UAT and ensure acceptance criteria.
• Test Documentation: maintain plans, cases, defect logs and test summaries.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance: ensure RBI/PCI-DSS standards compliance.

Qualification

Experience

46 years of experience in software testing, preferably in fintech or payment systems. Proven experience with POS terminals, UPI integrations, and digital transaction workflows.

Hands-on experience in functional, regression, and API testing using tools like Postman.

Exposure to payment applications such as UPI, POS, QR, or payment gateways.

Familiarity with defect tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla) and Agile/Scrum methodology.

Responsibilities

• Testing Planning & Execution: Design, develop, and execute detailed test cases and test scenarios based on business and functional requirements.
• Functional & Regression Testing: Perform end-to-end testing of applications including payment flows, ensuring system stability after enhancements or bug fixes.
• API Testing: Validate APIs using tools like Postman; verify request/response structures, data accuracy, and error handling.
• Defect Management: Identify, log, track, and retest defects using tools like JIRA; work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
• Integration Testing: Test integrations with banks, payment gateways, OEMs, and third-party systems to ensure seamless transaction processing.
• UAT Support: Coordinate with business teams during UAT, assist in validation, and ensure all acceptance criteria are met.
• Test Documentation: Maintain test plans, test cases, defect logs, and test summary reports for audit and reference.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure applications meet regulatory and security standards, including RBI and PCI-DSS guidelines.
