Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.

• Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects.

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Software Test Engineer (QA Engineer) to join our engineering team in Pune. You will be responsible for validating software quality across web applications, AI platforms, APIs, and edge deployments while working closely with software engineers, AI/ML engineers, DevOps, and product teams.

The ideal candidate is passionate about quality, enjoys finding edge cases, and has experience designing both manual and automated test strategies for complex software systems.

Key Responsibilities

Software Testing

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing.
• Validate new features before production releases.
• Verify software behavior against functional and technical requirements.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects.

Automation Testing

• Develop and maintain automated test suites.
• Improve test coverage through automation.
• Execute automated regression testing for every release.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

API & Backend Testing

• Test REST APIs and backend services.
• Validate API responses, authentication, performance, and error handling.
• Verify database consistency and data integrity.

AI Product Validation

• Test AI-powered features including computer vision and analytics modules.
• Validate model outputs against expected behavior.
• Support testing of edge AI deployments on embedded devices.
• Report reproducible issues involving AI inference, accuracy, and performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Engineering, AI/ML, Product Management, and DevOps teams.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release reviews.
• Help improve software development and testing processes.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain detailed test documentation.
• Prepare release validation reports.
• Track quality metrics and testing progress.
• Ensure timely communication of testing status and release readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in Software Testing or Quality Assurance.
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Experience testing web applications and REST APIs.
• Experience writing clear bug reports and test documentation.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or Appium.
• Experience using Postman or similar API testing tools.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with SQL and database validation.
• Experience testing AI/ML, computer vision, robotics, IoT, or embedded systems.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• ISTQB Certification is a plus.
• Experience working in startup environments is preferred.
