Job Description
Software Test Engineer (Playwright/Cypress), Pune/India
- Participate in “3 Amigos” (Business, development, testing) – pair with the PO and Developer and create Acceptance Criteria for user stories.
- Review acceptance criteria and identify test scenarios.
- Provide test estimates during sprint planning.
- Create a pragmatic test plan covering all phases of software development.
- Develop automated acceptance tests for features.
- Implement integration, regression, and system tests for new features.
- Create and maintain test data and environment.
- Log defects and track them to closure.
- Conduct exploratory testing each sprint.
- Develop automated tests for non‑functional testing.
- Collect quality metrics and enhance testing process for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Review user stories and ensure acceptance criteria are correct, unambiguous, and verifiable.
- 8+ years as a Test Engineer with at least 5 years in automation.
- Embedded tester within a Scrum team.
- Evaluate user story complexity and contribute to estimates.
- Develop high‑quality, maintainable, and performant test code.
- Ensure test execution conducted by cross‑functional team members.
- Judge when technical solutions require discussion and consensus.
- Understand software testing methodology and processes.
- Expertise in exploratory, rapid, session‑based testing, and heuristics.
- Triage issues and report progress.
- Plan, execute, and validate tests across functional, non‑functional, infosecurity, integration, regression, smoke, UAT, and OAT.
- Identify opportunities to improve QA processes and contribute to automation initiatives.
- Understand BDD/TDD methodologies.
- Use automated test approach and design patterns (page object, facade, singletons).
- Basic understanding of micro‑services architecture.
- Knowledge of automated API testing.
- Experience with Acceptance Test Automation in Cypress or JavaScript‑based frameworks.
- Work with CI tools like GitLab and cloud infrastructure such as GCP.
