Job summary

Goodfit in Bengaluru is seeking a QA Engineer to drive manual and automated testing across UI, API, and database layers. You will design test plans, execute tests, and contribute to security and performance testing for SaaS products.

The role requires hands-on automation with WebDriverIO/Cypress/Playwright or Postman, experience with Azure DevOps, and strong collaboration with stakeholders in an agile setting.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years of manual and automation testing experience.
• Experience with Microsoft technologies, TFS, VSTS, and MTM.
• Ability to design comprehensive functional test cases and plans.
• Experience with web application testing: functional, UI, system, integration, regression.
• Defect analysis and bug lifecycle management experience.
• Experience with Azure DevOps Test Management or similar systems.
• Hands-on automation in WebDriverIO/Cypress/Playwright or Postman.
• Git for version control and JavaScript/TypeScript/C# automation.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and English reporting skills.
• Familiarity with Slack or MS Teams for collaboration.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Organize, manage, and execute work with minimal supervision within fast-paced agile development teams.

• Collaborate with stakeholders and the team on requirements understanding, test design (plans, cases), planning (estimates, milestones), and execution.

• Proactively detect defects early to minimize technical debt.

• Conduct functional, integration, system, performance, and security testing, building deep product understanding and troubleshooting production/staging issues.

• Develop test automation for functional (UI, API, Database) and non-functional (Performance, Security, Penetration, Compliance) areas, improving accuracy and velocity of SaaS deliverables.

• Provide essential technical documentation for infrastructure visibility and maintainability.

• Play an integral role in acquiring and disseminating knowledge on technology trends and best practices.

Requirements

• 4-8 years of overall experience in manual and automation testing.

• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft technologies, TFS, VSTS, and Microsoft Test Manager.

• Strong ability to understand complex application requirements, workflows, and features to provide comprehensive functional test designs (plans and cases).

• Strong experience with Functional, User Interface, System, Integration, and Regression testing for web applications.

• Proven experience with bug lifecycle management, including defect analysis and prioritization.

• Experience with Azure DevOps Test Management or similar systems.

• Hands-on experience with at least one of the following functional automation areas: WebDriverIO, Cypress, Playwright (UI testing) or Postman (API testing).

• Hands-on experience with Git for version control.

• Hands-on programming experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, and C#.Net for test automation.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering meaningful collaboration and strong team commitment.

• Strong reporting and presentation skills (verbal and written English).

• Active experience using modern team collaboration tools (Slack, MS Teams, etc.).

Nice-to-Haves

• Certification in relevant testing, Cloud, or DevOps.

• Experience with Security, Accessibility, and Compliance testing.

• Experience with E2E testing for SaaS products or applications.

• Hands-on experience building and managing CI-CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.

• Ability to be creative and innovative in technology and non-technology areas.

• Ability to inspire, motivate, and be assertive yet congenial within the team.

• Experience writing quality wikis/articles/blogs for internal and external use.
