Philips India is seeking an Embedded Software Test Engineer to join the Test engineering team. You will design, implement, and execute test plans to ensure the quality, function, and performance of software products meet standards.

Responsibilities include developing test automation, maintaining scripts, executing tests across lifecycle, and collaborating in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality releases for healthcare/medical device software.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE/IT or equivalent.
• 4–7 years of Embedded Software Testing experience.
• Experience in regulated environments (FDA 21 CFR Part 820, IEC 62304, ISO 13485).
• Strong knowledge of SDLC and STLC with hands-on involvement.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks for various testing levels.
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and automated scripts from requirements.
• Execute embedded software, system, integration, and regression testing throughout product life cycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum setup to ensure quality releases.
• Analyze results, track defects, and drive quality improvements; perform risk-based testing.
• Validate end-to-end workflows including software updates and device interactions.
• Participate in design reviews and testability analysis to improve early quality gates.
• Leverage mocking/simulation techniques to validate components in embedded environments.

Job Title

Software Technologist I - Test

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Embedded Software Test Engineer to join our dynamic Test engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing test plans to ensure the quality, function, and performance of software products meet the required standards.

Your Role

• Design, develop, and maintain product-based test automation frameworks to support functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing activities.
• Develop, review, document, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, test procedures, and automated test scripts based on software requirements and design specifications.
• Execute and support embedded software, system, integration, functional, regression, and verification testing activities throughout the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate effectively with software developers, system engineers, and cross-functional teams in a Scrum/Agile environment to ensure high-quality product releases.
• Analyse test results, track defects, provide test status reports, and drive continuous quality improvements.
• Apply risk-based testing methodologies to ensure comprehensive verification and validation of safety-critical software.
• Validate end-to-end workflows, including software updates, cloud/backend services, communication interfaces, and device interactions.
• Participate in requirements reviews, design discussions, and testability analysis to improve product quality early in the development cycle.
• Leverage mocking frameworks and simulation techniques to validate software components and interfaces in embedded environments.

Technical Skills

• Strong experience in Test Automation, C# or Python scripting, and automation framework development.
• Hands-on experience with BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) and/or TDD (Test-Driven Development) methodologies.
• Experience with mocking frameworks and test simulation technologies for embedded systems testing.
• Knowledge of Automation Architecture and development of enterprise-scale automated test solutions.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles and design patterns.
• Proficiency in HP ALM, Azure DevOps, Jira, or other Test Management and Defect Tracking tools.
• Experience with test reporting, metrics, traceability, and requirements management.

You're The Right Fit If

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent.
• 4 to 7 years of experience in Embedded Software Testing, preferably in the Healthcare/Medical Device domain.
• Experience working in a regulated environment (FDA 21 CFR Part 820, IEC 62304, ISO 13485, or similar). Exposure to medical device software verification and validation activities. Experience with healthcare applications, connected devices, or embedded medical systems.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), with hands-on involvement across requirements, design reviews, test planning, execution, defect management, and release activities.

Preferred Skills

• ISTQB Foundation Level or Advanced Level Certification preferred.
