Job summary

Teradyne IT BMO is seeking an experienced Software QA Engineer to join our QA team. You will design, develop, and execute manual and automated tests for web applications and APIs, driving quality across the development lifecycle.

Candidates should have 4+ years testing complex software systems, strong QA methodologies, and hands-on experience with Postman, Jira, and automated tools. Familiarity with CI/CD and programming basics is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum education or equivalent: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience testing complex software systems.
• Strong knowledge of QA processes, testing methodologies, and documentation standards.
• Hands-on experience with manual and automated testing; API testing tools (Postman).
• Familiarity with Jira, Zephyr, qTest or similar defect tracking tools.
• Understanding of CI/CD and basic programming (JS/Java/Python) and automation tools (Tosca, Playwright, Selenium).

Responsibilities

• Define testing strategies for product verification and validation; create and maintain test plans.
• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for web apps and APIs.
• Participate in reviews of requirements and design specifications.
• Review and summarize test results; log anomalies and communicate status to stakeholders.
• Enforce quality standards throughout the lifecycle and contribute to test process improvements.
• Support and mentor other QA team members.

Opportunity Overview

Teradyne IT BMO (Business Management Office) is looking for an experienced Software QA Engineer to join our QA team. In this role, you will design, develop, and execute manual and automated tests for web applications and APIs, playing a key part in streamlining our testing activities. You will bring a strong technical background, excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities, and strong communication skills to drive quality throughout the development lifecycle.

• Minimum education or equivalent experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
• Primary experience needed for role: 4+ years of experience testing complex software systems
• Minimum skills/requirements: Strong knowledge of QA processes, testing methodologies, and documentation standards; hands‑on experience with manual and automated testing; experience with API testing tools such as Postman; practical knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter or NeoLoad; and familiarity with Jira, Zephyr, qTest or other test/bug management systems
• Preferred experience/skills needed for role: Understanding of Jenkins or a similar CI/automation server; experience with database testing and SQL; working knowledge of a programming language (e.g., JavaScript, Java, Python) and automation testing tools (e.g., Tosca, Playwright, TestNG, Selenium)
• Soft skills/behavioral traits: Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and cross‑team collaboration; strong time management and organizational skills with a clear focus on meeting deadlines
