Software QA Test Engineer (Validation Engineer)

Medpace is growing rapidly and we are seeking a full‑time, office‑based Software QA Test Engineer (Validation Engineer) to join our Information Technology (IT) team in the Mumbai office.

Overview

Medpace is a full‑service clinical contract research organization (CRO) that provides Phase I–IV clinical development services to the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical device industries. Responsibilities

• Work closely with developers and end users throughout the software life cycle to ensure that applications meet user needs.
• Create and maintain test cases, test plans, and other documentation for projects.
• Participate in constructive peer review of test cases.
• Understand, design and execute SQL queries for database/backend validation.
• Identify and report software defects and inconsistencies.
• Review, analyze, and supplement requirement specifications, and ensure 100% test coverage.
• Help facilitate execution of acceptance test scripts by end users.

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree and 1+ year of experience in software testing, preferably in an agile‑like environment.
• Experience writing and executing manual test cases for complex software applications.
• Able to logically understand and write complex SQL queries.
• 6 months to 1 year experience designing and executing SQL queries for database/backend validation using tools such as Cassandra, MSSQL, MongoDB, or Studio 3T.
• Good to have experience with Snowflake.
• Experience communicating and working within cross‑departmental teams of software developers, department leads, and end users.
• Excellent computer skills; analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
• Experience in the regulated healthcare industry is a plus.
