Job summary

Viking Enterprise Solutions in Chennai is seeking an experienced Software QA Engineer to join our storage management team. You will validate end-to-end features, develop and execute test plans, and help maintain quality standards across product releases.

You will work with open source and third‑party software, contribute to CI/CD test automation pipelines, and collaborate with development engineers to diagnose and resolve issues, ensuring reliable performance of storage solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software development or storage software QA.

• Proven delivery of software applications as an individual QA engineer in a team.
• Understanding of the software development life cycle and QA processes.

Software QA Engineer 3

Software QA Engineer : Debugs software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products. Develops, modifies, and executes software test plans. Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action. Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems. Provides feedback in preparation of technical appraisals of programming languages, systems, and computation software. Ensures quality computer integration into the overall functions of scientific computation, data acquisition, and processing.

Viking Enterprise Solutions is a supplier of storage array systems, providing solutions to customers who are seeking a flexible, scalable and resilient platform on which to build a storage, public cloud or private cloud service. We are looking for an experienced software QA Engineer to work on end to end validation of our storage management solutions.

The successful candidate will be work in a team responsible for building, maintaining, and validating storage management applications for our storage array systems utilizing open source and third‑party software.

Key Accountabilities & Skills Required

• Experience with developing Software test plan per product feature requirement
• Experience with Software QA processes and methodologies
• Working knowledge of CI/CD test automation pipelines
• Working knowledge in JIRA Confluence toolsets
• Project Management experiences such as schedule, risk management
• Experience with assisting field team on debug analysis, customer issue recreate activities.
• Working knowledge of Server/Storage and Networking infrastructures
• Collaborate with other team members on shared items of work and communicate effectively in a team-oriented environment to ensure end to end delivery of features
• Experience with web services API integration.
• Experience with Python, JavaScript, Shell script and other software languages

Qualifications /Education

Skills and knowledge: Essential

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or demonstrated experience
• 5+ years of software development or Storage Software QA experience
• Experience working with a team and collaborating in a remote work scenario
• Experience utilizing Agile development and QA methodologies
• A record of successful delivery of software applications as an individual QA engineer in a team environment
• Understanding of the software development and quality assurance program cycle
• Problem-solving skills - methodical approach
• Communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to communicate and work with customers and end users
• Experience in Python, JavaScript, Shell script and other software languages

Skills and knowledge: Desirable

• Familiar with data storage technologies (S3 Object, Block Devices, NFS and SMB File Systems).
• Familiarity with developing and testing software in a Linux environment
