Job summary

Equifax Credit Information Services Pvt Ltd in Trivandrum, India, seeks a Software Engineer - Front Line Manager to lead a technology team across the full SDLC. You will interview, mentor, and develop engineers, drive quality, and align delivery with business goals.

You will design and implement cloud-native solutions using Java, SpringBoot, GCP or other cloud platforms, manage CI/CD pipelines, and foster a high-performance culture with metrics-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years writing, debugging, and troubleshooting code in Java, SpringBoot, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, CSS (Angular desirable).
• 5+ years designing and developing microservices with Java, SpringBoot, GCP SDKs, GKE/Kubernetes.
• 5+ years deploying and releasing software using Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, IaC concepts, Helm and Terraform.
• 5+ years of Java (11+) with Spring and SpringBoot (mandatory).
• 5+ years cloud-native solutions using GCP/AWS/Azure (mandatory).
• 5+ years with CI/CD tools like Maven, Git and Jenkins (Desirable).
• 5+ years working with relational and/or NoSQL databases (mandatory).
• 5+ years RESTful web services development (mandatory).
• 5+ years Unit and automation testing (JUnit/Cucumber) (mandatory).

Responsibilities

• Provide software engineers constant feedback and develop plans for succession or seniority placement.
• Ensure delivery quality by prioritizing metrics, define quality strategy and oversee delivery workflows.

Software Engineer - Front Line Manager

What you will do

• Oversee the technology team, interview and select people, motivate and inspire the team and drive retention and employee engagement.
• Provide software engineers constant feedback and prepare individual development plans to have team members prepared for succession or to occupy new seniority positions.
• Ensure the quality of deliveries, prioritize initiatives oriented to metrics (eg reliability, code smells, technical debts, bugs), define quality strategy and quality techniques/frameworks (eg BDD, TDD, FDD , test automation), oversee the processes and controls of delivery flow at different discovery, development, testing, approval and implementation phases and ensure stability, performance and maintenance of organizational systems.
• Ensure the efficiency of the teams through the use of metrics (availability, cloud cost, throughput, lead time, blockages), ensuring the balance of indicators according to the defined goals and raising the need for additional resources as needed.
• Facilitate integration between product teams and other areas of the company focused on the client by defining responsibilities and agreements, and systematically optimizing workflow and communication.

What experience you need

• Software Development and Engineering: Extensive, hands-on experience in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including coding, testing, debugging, and implementing software solutions.
• Team Supervision and Leadership : Proven experience in supervising the daily activities of a team (preferably production or technical support roles) and being accountable for their operational performance.
• Project and Delivery Management: Experience delivering Technology change through project-based work, including developing and implementing short and long-term IT solutions and adapting existing system designs.
• People Management Fundamentals: Experience with core people management responsibilities, such as conducting performance appraisals, pay reviews, and employee training/development.
• Technical Architecture/Systems Integration: Experience with the design, development, or maintenance of applications, systems architecture, network systems, or applications infrastructure.
• Operational Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve day-to-day operational problems and make decisions guided by policies and business plans.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years experience writing, debugging, and troubleshooting code in mainstream Java, SpringBoot, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, CSS, (Angular is desirable).
• 5+ years experience designing and developing microservices using Java, SpringBoot, GCP SDKs, GKE/Kubernetes
• 5+ years experience deploying and releasing software using Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, understand infrastructure-as-code concepts, Helm Charts, and Terraform constructs
• 5+ years of Java (11 and above) software development experience including Spring framework and SpringBoot. (mandatory)
• 5+ years experience designing and developing cloud-native solutions using GCP, AWS, OR Azure (mandatory)
• 5+ years of experience with CI/CD tools like Maven, GIT and Jenkins. (Desirable)
• 5+ years of experience working with Relational and/or NoSQL databases. (mandatory)
• 5+ years of experience with Web service development, resource-oriented architecture, RESTful web services experience. (mandatory)
• 5+ years of Unit and automation testing (JUnit/Cucumber) (mandatory)
