Resillion is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive design and evolution of automated test platforms for broadcast and streaming ecosystems. You will lead hands-on technical direction, mentor engineers, and collaborate with distributed teams across the UK, India, China and Belgium.

The role requires deep knowledge of HbbTV/CI+, MPEG, DASH, DRM, Python/Django on Linux, and Azure cloud infrastructure, with influence on international standards bodies and engineering culture.

Formación

• Broadcast standards: HbbTV, CI+, ATSC3, DVB, MPEG.
• Proficient in Python, Django, Linux.
• Experience building large-scale frameworks and automated test orchestration.
• Knowledge of DASH streaming and DRM (PlayReady, Widevine).
• Azure cloud infrastructure experience.
• Familiar with JIRA, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Jenkins.

The Role

As a Lead Engineer, you will work with broadcast and streaming technologies used by major broadcasters, TV manufacturers, and standards bodies worldwide. This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, guiding teams, and influencing international standards.

You Will

• Lead the design, architecture, and evolution of automated test platforms for HbbTV, CI+, ATSC and DVB-based broadcast and hybrid/streaming ecosystems.
• Translate complex specifications into clear, testable objectives and implement them in robust, scalable frameworks.
• Own end-to-end system architecture, ensuring modularity, maintainability, and long-term resilience.
• Design, build, and verify sophisticated software and hardware components.
• Represent the company in international standards bodies and technical working groups.
• Act as a player-coach: mentor engineers, set coding and architectural standards, support hiring, and unblock complex technical challenges.
• Shape engineering culture and champion technical excellence across the team.
• Work with globally distributed teams across the UK, India, China, and Belgium.

You Need to Have

• Experience analysing broadcast standards relating to (HbbTV, CI+, ATSC3, DVB, MPEG).
• Strong software engineering background using Python, Django, and Linux.
• Experience building large-scale frameworks and automated test orchestration systems.
• Strong understanding of the broadcast industry, particularly HbbTV and CI+.
• Experience with streaming technologies (e.g. DASH) and DRM systems (PlayReady, Widevine).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (preferably Azure).
• Working knowledge of JIRA, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and tools such as Jenkins.

Use of AI & Modern Engineering Practices

• Use AI-assisted tools responsibly to accelerate development, testing, debugging, and documentation tasks.
• Apply strong engineering judgement to validate AI outputs, ensuring quality, correctness, and alignment with specifications and architectural standards.
