Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise India Private Limited is seeking a Software Engineering Manager (Development) for a hybrid role based in Bengaluru. You will lead a skilled engineering team focused on scalable, secure networking solutions, collaborating with Product, Security, and Platform teams.

Expect ownership, architecture reviews, and customer-facing debugging activities to ensure successful delivery. The role requires 10–15 years of total engineering experience with at least 2 years in a people

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, or equivalent.
• Total engineering experience 10–15 years with at least 2 years in a people leader role.
• Experience in application development on Windows/Mac/iOS/Android/Linux.
• Experience with AI-Driven Engineering and familiarity with AI tooling in development.
• Network security domain experience is a big plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers with strong ownership and accountability.
• Conduct architecture and design reviews within the team.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Security and identity teams, Platform and other product development teams.
• Coordinate with Security, Compliance, and Certification teams (e.g., FIPS/Common Criteria).
• Represent the team in cross-functional and cross-org integrations, communicating trade-offs and risks.
• Talk to customers and participate in calls for debugging and troubleshooting.
• Drive innovation within the team.

Role Overview and Summery

We are looking for a talented Software Engineering Manager (Development), to join our development team. In this role, you will manage and collaborate with highly skilled engineers and architects to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure solutions.

What you'll do:

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers, fostering strong ownership and accountability with AI-Driven Engineering.
• Conduct architecture and design reviews within the team.
• Partner closely with: Product management Security and identity teams Platform and other teams that are part of product development.
• Security, compliance and certification (E.g. FIPS/Common Criteria) teams.
• Represent the team in cross‑functional and cross‑org integrations, clearly communicating trade‑offs and risks.
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools
• Ability to talk to Customer/participate in calls with customer as part of debugging/trouble shooting
• Drive Innovation within the team.

What you need to bring:

Education & Experience

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, or equivalent 10 to 15 years of total engineering experience with at least 2 years in a people leader role

• Experience in Application development on platforms i.e. Windows/ Mac/ iOS/ Android/ Linux
