Job summary

Cognite is seeking a Software Engineer with 3–6 years of experience to join our Bengaluru engineering team. You will design and build scalable backend services and data platforms that process large volumes of industrial data.

You will develop distributed pipelines with Spark, Kafka, and Flink, and ship reliable APIs in a cloud-native environment. This role collaborates with product and engineering teams to drive scalable, high-performance solutions.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of software engineering or distributed systems experience.
• Strong programming in Java, Scala, or Python.
• Hands-on experience with backend services, microservices, REST APIs, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Good understanding of distributed systems, scalability, performance, and reliability.

About the Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer with 3-6 years of experience to join our engineering team and build scalable backend systems and data platforms that process large volumes of industrial data.

You will work on distributed systems, data processing, cloud infrastructure, and backend services, solving complex engineering challenges while collaborating closely with product and engineering teams.

Required Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience in software engineering, backend development, or distributed systems.

• Hands‑on experience with backend services, microservices, REST APIs, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Good understanding of distributed systems, scalability, performance, and reliability concepts.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with distributed data technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, or Flink.
• Experience working with AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with Docker/Kubernetes or cloud-native technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD, observability, monitoring, and production troubleshooting in large-scale systems.
