Coupa Software, Inc. in India is seeking a Software Engineer for the Technology Platform to design, build, and scale foundational platform services powering multiple products across teams.

You will drive architecture decisions, improve performance, observability, and reliability while mentoring junior engineers and upholding code quality. This role emphasizes collaboration, DevOps practices, and hands-on work with distributed systems and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in software development, preferably in platform or backend engineering.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Solid understanding of APIs, system design, and scalable architecture.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes; observability and DevOps practices.
• Hands‑on experience with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Redis.

What You'll Do:

• Design and develop scalable, reliable, and secure platform services and frameworks

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a strong engineering culture


• Proactively identify and resolve technical risks, bottlenecks, and production issues

What You Will Bring to Coupa:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field


• 2+ years of experience in software development, preferably in platform or backend engineering


• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, or similar)


• Experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)


• Solid understanding of APIs, system design, and scalable architecture patterns


• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)


• Experience with observability tools (monitoring, logging) and familiarity with DevOps practices


• Hands‑on experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL and in memory key‑value stores like Redis.


• Solid understanding of data modeling, query optimization, and database performance tuning


• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
