Job summary

Global Payments Inc. in India (Maharashtra) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the TRANSAXpay Payments team. You will develop and support real-time transaction-processing systems, translating customer requirements into robust code and guiding a growing engineering group.

You will lead the team, perform regression testing, and drive modernization as we migrate from data-center-hosted to cloud-hosted services, collaborating with teams worldwide to deliver reliable payment solutions.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of experience as a Technical Lead or Manager.
• Proficiency in C, C++, DDL, SQL, and basic IP networking.
• Ability to translate requirements into well-structured, bug-free code.
• Clear communication with global teams.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for Software Engineer Senior to join our ever-evolving TRANSAXpay Payments team to develop and support new systems and enhancements to our existing real-time transaction-processing systems, based on requirements obtained from customers and prospects and help shape the future of global commerce.

What You’ll Own

• Development of new functionality in our core TRANSAXpay payments processing platform.
• Regression testing of systems to ensure new features do not affect existing functionality.
• Modernization efforts as we migrate from data-center-hosted to cloud-hosted services.
• As a Team Leader/Manager you will provide coaching and support of other team members.

What You’ll Bring

• 6- 10 years of experience as a Technical Lead or Manager, with proficiency in C, C++, DDL, SQL, and basic IP networking.
• The ability to translate requirements into well structured, bug free codes.
• Clear communication skills to effectively work with team members around the world.
• Strong problem-solving skills and innovative thinking to navigate challenges and resolve issues effectively.
• A proactive, accountable approach - taking ownership, acting early, and delivering great outcomes.
• To act as a mentor for more junior members of the team, engaging in peer reviews of designs and code.
• A genuine interest in Global Payments’ products and the wider payments industry, with a passion for learning and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of the Payment Card Industry, specifically with EMV and UKCA (APACS) standards.
• Security scans, Snyk, Checkmarx, etc.
