Job summary

Limechat is seeking a backend engineer to build and maintain services powering our SaaS platform. You will design scalable RESTful APIs, collaborate with frontend teams, product managers, and clients to ship features end-to-end, and help shape architectural decisions.

The role requires 1–3 years of experience, strong Python or Node.js skills, and solid database know-how (SQL and NoSQL). You will work with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP, ensuring reliable deployments

About the role:

• Build and maintain backend systems and integrations that power SaaS and platform products
• Design and implement RESTful APIs that handle complex client workflows
• Develop scalable solutions using containerization and cloud infrastructure
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and clients to ship features end-to-end
• Troubleshoot production issues by analyzing logs, tracing requests across microservices, and identifying performance bottlenecks

What you'll work on:

• Backend development using Python (FastAPI or Django) or Node.js (Express)
• Database design and optimization with SQL (PostgreSQL or MySQL) and NoSQL systems (MongoDB or Redis), including schema migrations and query performance tuning
• Docker and container orchestration with Kubernetes or ECS
• Deployment pipelines and infrastructure on AWS or GCP
• Version control with Git, peer code reviews, and continuous integration/deployment (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions)

What we're looking for:

• 1–3 years of professional experience building backend or integration solutions
• Strong proficiency in Python or Node.js with deep knowledge of framework patterns
• Solid understanding of relational and non-relational database concepts and query optimization
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes or ECS, and at least one major cloud platform
• Comfort navigating Git workflows and participating in code review processes
• Ability to set up and monitor CI/CD pipelines
• Clear communication skills—you can explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders and teammates alike

Bonus skills:

• Experience with LLM and generative AI frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Haystack
• Knowledge of vector databases like PGVector or Pinecone
• Event-driven systems using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SNS/SQS
• Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or Pulumi
• Monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and Prometheus
• Familiarity with security standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001) and secrets management tools (Vault, AWS KMS)
