Job summary

Careernet is seeking an experienced performance test engineer to analyze non-functional requirements and design robust load tests for APIs and distributed systems. You will implement tests in Docker/Kubernetes environments and integrate automated suites into CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires building and maintaining testing frameworks, scripts, and infrastructure, plus ongoing performance monitoring to identify bottlenecks and ensure system scalability across diverse workloads.

Role & responsibilities

• Analyze non-functional requirements and develop performance and load test scenarios for APIs and distributed software systems.
• Design, develop, execute, and maintain performance and load tests based on defined test plans and requirements.
• Implement and maintain performance testing solutions in containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain performance testing infrastructure, frameworks, and tools.
• Perform system-level performance testing to evaluate scalability, stability, responsiveness, and system behavior under varying workloads.
• Develop and maintain reusable automated functional test scripts for front-end and back-end applications.
• Implement UI test automation using Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrate automated functional and performance test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
• Utilize performance testing tools such as Grafana k6, Apache JMeter, or equivalent tools to execute tests and analyze results.
• Monitor performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and perform root cause analysis of performance and functional issues.
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks, technical dependencies, and potential issues throughout the development lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot test failures and collaborate with development, QA, and DevOps teams to resolve defects.
• Prepare and maintain test plans, test scripts, execution reports, test documentation, and other testing artifacts.
• Track and report testing metrics, including test coverage, pass rates, defect trends, and performance benchmarks.
• Ensure compliance with organizational testing standards, coding guidelines, and quality assurance processes.
• Contribute to test design reviews, code reviews, and continuous improvement of automation frameworks and testing processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across distributed teams and time zones to ensure timely delivery of quality software.
• Support testing activities to achieve project quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
• Stay updated with emerging performance testing tools, automation technologies, and industry best practices.
