Viasat is seeking an experienced software engineer to contribute to the RU (Radio Unit) software for the upcoming LEO NTN network. You will design, implement, and maintain features, while automating CI/CD pipelines and collaborating with embedded systems teams to support new devices.
The role requires 3–5 years in O-RAN/O-RAN 3GPP tech, strong network programming and embedded skills, and a proactive approach to DevOps in a production environment.

PHY Management team is responsible for the development of the RU (Radio Unti) software for Viasat’s upcoming standards based global LEO NTN network. In addition, the team is also responsible for automated updating, configuration, and monitoring of various SAN components in our existing global Ka band network. Team member responsibilities are to design and implement new features as needed, regularly maintain and update the code base, maintaining applications in Viasat's production networks in a devops model. Team members regularly interact with embedded systems and will need to work closely with the Programmable Logic team and NTN RAN vendor teams in order to support features and required configurations for new devices that are in use.
This is a site‑based role, employees work 3+ days (60%+) per week from a Viasat office or work location within a standard five‑day workweek.
