Software Engineer – Network Reliability Engineering (NRE)
We are seeking a Software Engineer for our Network Reliability Engineering (NRE) team to design and build network automation solutions and front‑end applications that improve operational efficiency, reliability, and visibility across the enterprise network environment. This hands‑on role requires strong software development skills and a solid understanding of networking concepts, with a focus on creating scalable tools to address infrastructure and operations challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain network automation solutions to streamline operational tasks, reduce manual effort, and improve service reliability.
- Build and enhance front‑end interfaces, dashboards, and internal platforms that enable engineering and operations teams to use automation tools effectively.
- Collaborate with network engineering, infrastructure, and other IT teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable software solutions.
- Support the design, implementation, and management of automation frameworks that improve network configurability, observability, supportability, and performance.
- Drive engineering initiatives across the full project lifecycle, including research, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, and data issues within defined timelines, including support for production environments.
- Develop, support, and maintain software and automation capabilities that improve the productivity of network engineers and operations teams.
- Contribute to the modernization, optimization, and redesign of existing tools and platforms to improve stability, usability, and maintainability.
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 operational support for automation platforms and related engineering solutions as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 3‑5 years of software development experience, preferably in network engineering, infrastructure automation, or a related domain.
- Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Solid understanding of software development fundamentals, including design, testing, debugging, version control, and maintenance across the full software development lifecycle.
- Experience designing and implementing reliable, scalable, and secure automation systems or internal engineering platforms.
- Hands‑on experience building or supporting web‑based user interfaces, dashboards, or front‑end applications.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, and network operations workflows.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, with experience working in Linux‑based environments.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automation frameworks, REST APIs, and integrations with infrastructure or observability platforms.
- Exposure to front‑end frameworks and modern web application development practices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, source control workflows, and software delivery practices in enterprise environments.
- Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code, network‑as‑code, or platform engineering concepts.
- Knowledge of monitoring, telemetry, and reliability engineering practices for enterprise infrastructure.
