Job summary

Caterpillar India is seeking a seasoned .NET Developer to design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable applications on the .NET platform with a strong emphasis on Azure and data engineering.

You will work with Azure services, Microsoft Fabric, ETL pipelines, and data warehousing concepts in an Agile environment, delivering robust cloud solutions for our global teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • 5–8 years of proven experience as a .NET Developer.
  • Strong expertise in C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, Web API.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (App Services, Functions, Storage, Azure SQL, Azure AD).
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric, including building and managing data pipelines and lakehouses.
  • Strong knowledge of data engineering concepts, ETL, data modelling, and warehousing.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain .NET applications.
  • Build and deploy cloud-based solutions using Azure services.
  • Develop data pipelines and integration using Microsoft Fabric.
  • Implement secure authentication and SQL databases.
  • Collaborate with product managers and QA in Agile/Scrum.
  • Ensure coding best practices, architecture and security.

The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining applications built on the .NET framework, leveraging Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric for scalable, high-performance, and reliable solutions, with a strong focus on data engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, Web API.
  • Build and deploy cloud-based solutions leveraging Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure SQL, and Azure Storage.
  • Develop and optimize data pipelines and data integration solutions using Microsoft Fabric, including Data Factory, Dataflows, and Lakehouse’s.
  • Implement robust data engineering solutions for ETL, data modelling, and data warehousing.
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization using Azure AD / Identity Server.
  • Design and optimize databases with SQL Server / Azure SQL Database.
  • Integrate applications with Azure DevOps pipelines (CI/CD) for automated deployments.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot application performance using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
  • Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and other developers in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Ensure best practices in coding, architecture, security, cloud-native development, and data engineering.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5–8 years of proven experience as a .NET Developer.
  • Strong expertise in C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, Web API.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (App Services, Functions, Storage, Azure SQL, Azure AD, Key Vault).
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric, including building and managing data pipelines, dataflows, and Lakehouse’s.
  • Strong knowledge of data engineering concepts, ETL processes, data modelling, and data warehousing.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines, Boards).
  • Strong database knowledge (MS SQL Server, Entity Framework, LINQ).
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, Microservices architecture, Docker/Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of OOP, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep.
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks (NUnit, xUnit, MSTest).
  • Familiarity with security best practices in cloud applications.
  • Experience with data analytics, Power BI, or other data visualization tools is a plus.
