Job summary

Royal Bank of Scotland in Gurugram is seeking an experienced Software Engineer at associate vice president level to design, build and maintain scalable financial software with a focus on performance and security.

Qualifications

• Eight plus years of experience in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and enterprise application development within complex, large-scale environments.
• Experience with GCP, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Strong design and problem-solving skills; ownership and ambiguity navigation.

What you'll do

In your new role, you'll engineer and maintain innovative, customer centric, high performance, secure and robust solutions. You'll be working within a feature team and using your extensive experience to engineer software, scripts and tools that are often complex, as well as liaising with other engineers, architects and business analysts across the platform.

You'll also be:

The skills you'll need

You'll need a background in software engineering, software design, architecture, and an understanding of how your area of expertise supports our customers.

You'll also need:

• Experience of working with development and testing tools, bug tracking tools and wikis
• Eight plus years of experience in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and enterprise application development within complex, large-scale environments
• Proven expertise in designing scalable, resilient, and high-performance applications, with a track record of solving complex business and engineering challenges
• Hands-on experience with GCP, Kubernetes, cloud-native architectures, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modernization of legacy enterprise platforms
• Strong experience working with Sybase and PostgreSQL databases, distributed caching technologies such as Oracle Coherence, and performance optimization of data-intensive applications
• Self-driven problem solver with strong ownership and analytical skills, capable of navigating ambiguity and delivering robust, scalable, and maintainable enterprise solutions
