Software Engineer-Java

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Derwent team in Bangalore. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the Derwent Innovation Product. We value expertise in Java, Spring, Angular and would love to speak with you if you have skills in these technologies.

About You - Experience, Education, Skills, and Accomplishments

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or a related field, with strong communication and logical skills.
2. 2+ years of experience developing web applications using Java, Spring, Hibernate, SQL Server, and related technologies.
3. Experience in writing unit test cases.
4. Good understanding of software development principles, including object-oriented programming, Design Patterns, and SOLID principles.
5. Working knowledge of version control systems such as GIT and SVN.
6. Experience with Agile development methodologies.
7. Proficiency in front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Angular.

Preferred Skills

1. Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, and RDS.
2. Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Role Responsibilities

1. Participate in the full software development lifecycle: requirements, design, development, testing, deployment.
2. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices.
3. Develop and maintain unit and integration tests as part of an automated CI pipeline.
4. Collaborate with QA, Product, UX, and DevOps teams to ensure high-quality releases.
5. Engage in continuous process improvement activities.
6. Work with both on-site and remote teams.
7. Troubleshoot and debug issues during development, testing, and production.
8. Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends.

Team and Tech Stack

The Technology team is mainly based in Bengaluru, working with Angular, Java, Spring, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Power BI, and cloud services like EC2 and S3. We are moving towards a fully cloud-native infrastructure.

Work Hours

This is a full-time role aligned with IST hours, with stakeholders mainly in the EST time zone.
