Dataceria is seeking an ETL and Automation Test Engineer (SDET) to design and implement SQL-based testing and data validation frameworks. The role focuses on database testing, API automation, and ETL process support within a hybrid work setup in Bangalore or Pune.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in software testing, with strong SQL, Java/Python, and experience with Snowflake and MS SQL Server, plus familiarity with CI/CD and data quality practices.

Responsibilities

Job description

Position: ETL and Automation Test Engineer (SDET)

Location: Bangalore or Pune

Work mode: Hybrid (2-3 days in office)

Timings: UK Shift

Experience: 4 to 7 years

Notice period : Immediate joiners , 15-20 days notice period

As an ETL and Automation Test Engineer (SDET), you will help organisations transform complexity into measurable outcomes by combining technology, data, intelligence, and human decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain SQL-based testing and data validation frameworks to ensure data quality across enterprise platforms
• Create, execute, and optimise database and API test automation solutions while supporting ETL processes, data pipelines, and metadata management
• Analyse, organise and validate raw data to ensure accuracy and reliability
• Collaborate with business SMEs and data analytics experts to enhance functionality and efficiency within our data ecosystem.
• Maintain and enhance automated testing frameworks
• Create appropriate standards and processes to ensure the quality and consistency of data in the platform

Years of expereience

• 5+ years of experience in software testing, test automation, data engineering, or quality engineering roles.
• Strong experience working with enterprise data platforms and database testing.

Technical & Professional Skills

• Strong experience with SQL testing and database validation, preferably including Snowflake and Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience with database and API test automation
• Basic to intermediate proficiency in Java and/or Python for automation development
• Understanding of ETL processes, data pipelines, and data quality validation practices
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis capabilities
• Experience developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks
• Familiarity with Git version control and software development best practices
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience executing automated tests through CI/CD platforms (Jenkins or equivalent).
• Knowledge of Power BI reporting and dashboards
• Familiarity with Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools
• Understanding of cloud-based data platforms and architectures
• Experience in consulting, client-facing environments, or global delivery teams
• Relevant certifications in testing, automation, cloud, or data technologies.
