Software Engineer III, Play Games Multiplatform

Minimum qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
2. 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree
3. 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms
4. Experience in OS development
5. Experience with working on client software

Preferred qualifications:

1. Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields
2. Experience with game development
3. Experience with development in C#
4. Experience developing accessible technologies

Google Play and Android Mobile Team

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps, and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems to shaping product strategy and forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

Responsibilities

1. Write product or system development code
2. Participate in, or lead, design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies
3. Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency)
4. Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback
5. Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality
