Job summary

HackerOne is seeking a Software Engineer III for Pune, India (onsite 3-4 days a week) to help build and evolve our CTEM platform. You will work with engineers, PMs, and designers, collaborating with our Pune-based Customer Operations team and global colleagues to deliver reliable product experiences.

You will own meaningful features across the lifecycle and grow your technical expertise in AI-enabled workflows.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, ship, and maintain features for HackerOne's CTEM platform with focus on usability for Product Security Analysts, researchers, and customers.
• Own features from development through production, coordinating with engineers, PMs, and designers to meet requirements and timelines.
• Apply First Principles Problem Solving to break down problems and craft simple, maintainable solutions.
• Leverage AI-enabled development tools to improve quality and productivity and contribute to AI-assisted capabilities.
• Use Data-Driven Decision Making to assess feature performance using telemetry and feedback.
• Show Change Agility as priorities evolve and deliver software in small, validated iterations.
• Contribute to platform health via code reviews, observability, and documentation.

Software Engineer III

Location : Pune, India (working onsite 3-4 days a week)

Position Summary

As a Software Engineer at HackerOne, you will help build and evolve product capabilities that advance our Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) platform and improve how our Product Security Analysts and security researcher community get their work done. You will work closely with engineers, Product Managers, and Designers, while collaborating with our Pune-based Customer Operations team and global colleagues to turn real customer and user problems into reliable product experiences.You will own meaningful features and components through the software development lifecycle, contributing across our application stack and continuing to grow your technical expertise. As HackerOne evolves its AI-powered platform, you will also have opportunities to apply and learn AI technologies where they improve customer outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities

• Build, test, ship, and maintain highly available, performant, and durable product features for HackerOne's CTEM platform, with a focus on capabilities that simplify workflows and improve outcomes for Product Security Analysts, security researchers, and customers.
• Own meaningful features and components from development through production, working with engineers, Product Managers, and Designers to understand requirements, manage dependencies, make sound technical decisions, and deliver against team goals and roadmap priorities.
• Apply First Principles Problem Solving to understand customer and technical problems at their root, break complex challenges into manageable components, and develop simple, maintainable solutions rather than relying on fragile short-term fixes.
• Bring an AI Native mindset to engineering by using AI-enabled development tools where they improve quality or productivity and contributing to AI-assisted product capabilities where they create meaningful customer value. Develop your knowledge of technologies such as Python, LangChain, Langfuse, retrieval, and agentic workflows as relevant to the problems you are solving.
• Use Data-Driven Decision Making to understand how features and systems are performing, drawing on product data, application telemetry, user feedback, quality measures, and other evidence to validate decisions and guide iteration after launch.
• Demonstrate Change Agility as product priorities, customer needs, and technologies evolve, learning new tools and approaches while continuing to deliver reliable software in small, validated iterations.
• Contribute to the quality and health of the broader engineering platform through code reviews, testing, observability, documentation, and improvements to reliability, maintainability, and developer experience; participate in cross-squad initiatives when your expertise or team's work can contribute.
