Job summary

Sabre is seeking an experienced engineer to maintain and enhance the SABRE2 platform. You will onboard users, train teams to run products on SABRE2, and evaluate Open Source projects aligned with Sabre requirements.

Key focus areas include automation, CI/CD, and cloud-native design, with a strong emphasis on reliability, scalability and rapid iteration in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with containerization-based tech such as Docker and Kubernetes/GKE.
• Shell scripting using Bash for automation and CI tasks.
• Proficiency in Java, C++, Python or Go and general programming best practices.
• Familiarity with cloud-native patterns and DevOps culture.
• Experience with CI/CD (Maven, GitHub Actions) and IaC tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure continuous and efficient operation of the SABRE2 system through maintenance, monitoring, and updates.
• Facilitate onboarding for new users with guides, training, and support; collect feedback to improve experience.
• Train other teams to run their products on the SABRE2 platform as a technical consultant.
• Evaluate Open Source projects and configure per Sabre requirements.
• Apply Agile practices to deliver high-quality, scalable, reliable solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the continuous and efficient operation of the SABRE2 system by performing regular maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and implementing necessary updates and patches. This includes monitoring system performance, identifying potential problems, and taking proactive measures to prevent disruptions.
• Facilitate the onboarding process for new users of the SABRE2 system. This involves creating and updating user guides, conducting training sessions, and providing ongoing support to ensure that new users are comfortable and proficient with the system. Additionally, gather feedback from users to improve the onboarding experience and address any concerns.
• Training other teams to run their products using our Platform, Acting as a technical consultant and advocate for the SABRE2
• Participating in the Open Source products evaluation, analysis, configuration according to the Sabre requirements
• Utilizing Agile to deliver high-quality, reactive solutions, with a keen eye for scalability and reliability
• Applying fundamental skills, concepts, and practices to solve difficult assignments

Job Requirements

• Proven experience with containerization-based technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes / GKE
• Experience with scripting capabilities (Bash)
• Experience with a programming language of choice (Java, C++, Python/Go)
• Familiarity with Cloud Native Applications design patterns and best practices
• Experience in Continuous Integration (e.g. Maven), Continuous Delivery (e.g. GitHub Actions/ Pipelines)
• Experience with Bazel and Nix
• Experience in Agile and DevOps culturePositive attitude, attention to detail, a team player, excellent problem-solving skills, and strong work ethic
• Good English communication skills
• Must have Miniumum 2 years in Bazel and Nix

Additional assets:

• Experience with IaaS / SaaS platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with Linux/Unix
• Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Ansible, Terraform)
• Experience with developing K8S Operators (K8S APIs, CRDs, etc.)
• Experience in exposing and consuming REST, GRPC services
• Contribution to open source projects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Passionate about learning new technologies and improving existing systems.
