Software Engineer II – React JS + Java

Join JPMorgan Chase as a Software Engineer II on our Consumer and Community Banking technology team. In this role you will work on secure, scalable, and stable software components in a full‑stack environment, leveraging modern development practices such as CI / CD, agile methodologies and cloud technologies.

Job Description

You will execute software solutions through design, development, and technical troubleshooting, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality code and robust applications. You will learn and grow while contributing to system stability, performance, and security.

Job Responsibilities

• Execute standard software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot production systems.
• Write secure, high‑quality code in at least one programming language.
• Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot with consideration of upstream and downstream systems.
• Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle to improve automation value.
• Diagnose and resolve basic technical problems through systematic troubleshooting.
• Analyze large data sets to identify problems and inform decision‑making for secure, stable application development.
• Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for developing secure, stable code.
• Contribute to a team culture that values diversity, inclusion, opportunity, and respect.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 2 years of applied experience.
• Hands‑on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficiency in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with at least one modern programming language and database query language.
• Demonstrable coding ability in one or more languages.
• Experience across the entire Software Development Life Cycle.
• Exposure to agile practices such as CI / CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Emerging knowledge of technical disciplines such as cloud, AI, machine learning, or mobile.
