Job summary

Bank of America in Hyderabad/Chennai is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to deliver secure, scalable software using Java/Spring Boot and React. You will contribute to design patterns, implement tests, and drive quality across the development lifecycle.

The role requires 5+ years of full‑stack experience, strong problem‑solving, and familiarity with CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, REST APIs, and relational databases. Collaboration across teams is essential.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in software development and testing
Strong proficiency in Java/Spring Boot and frontend React
Experience with RESTful APIs, databases, and ORM
Familiarity with CI/CD and Git version control
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) is a plus
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Responsibilities

Refine user stories and define requirements
Perform spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk
Code solutions and unit test to meet acceptance criteria
Assist team with resolving technical complexities in story work
Design/develop/modify architecture components and interfaces
Design/develop/maintain automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)

Process Overview

The Global Information Security (GIS) is responsible for protecting Bank information systems, confidential and proprietary data, and customer information. Cyber Security technology function is responsible of development and maintenance of security products across Bank of America. Team works on various security products and also develops in‑house products.

Job Description

The individual will be part of Cyber Security technology team that are responsible for the ongoing development of applications that provides Bank of America users with developing products that help reduce risk around Information Security Threats. We are heavily invested in process automation and want to leverage the candidate’s expertise to shift left in testing to drive higher quality and enable more frequent releases.

Role Description - This role is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the role include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non‑functional, and compliance requirements. These individuals possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry, and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns.

Responsibilities

Contribute to story refinement/defining requirements.
Perform spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.
Code solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.
Assist team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work.
Design/develop/modify architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained.
Design/develop/maintain automated test suites (integration, regression, performance).

Requirements

Education : B.E. / B. Tech/M.E. /M. Tech/B.Sc./M.Sc./BCA/MCA (prefer IT/CS specialization)

Certifications If Any : NA

Experience Range : 5+ years
