The ES365 (Microsoft 365 Engineering Systems) team owns the services and infrastructure that make up the end-to-end developer experience in Office—from source control and check-in to build, testing, security, compliance, and deployment automation. Responsibilities

Work with engineers, program managers, partner teams, and end customers to deliver features with solid design and architecture.
Own and deliver complete features, including design, architecture, implementation, testability, debugging, and shipping.
As a technical leader, share insights and best practices to improve development across related systems, platforms, and products; continue to grow knowledge of best practices.
Provide mentorship and coaching to junior engineers to help identify and propose solutions; support growth of team members.
Write clean, well-structured code with emphasis on quality, performance, simplicity, durability, scalability, and maintainability.
Build strong relationships with internal partners to bring innovation to new and existing features.
Commit to delivering the best experience for customers.
Contribute to an inclusive culture where everyone can bring their authentic self and do their best work.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python (or equivalent experience).
Excellent design, coding, testing, problem-solving, and debugging skills in any language.
Proficiency in Object-Oriented design with C#, C++, or Java.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years of technical engineering experience in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python; OR Master’s Degree with 2+ years of experience; or equivalent experience.
Passion for building highly available distributed systems at scale.
Experience working across disciplines, groups, and teams.
Experience writing applications using C/C++, C#, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
Experience architecting and delivering distributed cloud services; Azure experience preferred.
Experience in Machine Learning and AI.
