Job summary

Bank of America in Chennai is seeking a skilled Java developer to design and implement authentication and authorization services within IAAT Extended Services. You will work on RESTful microservices, Spring framework, and frontend integration using React, with a focus on secure identity management and scalable backend systems.

The role requires 2–4+ years of hands-on experience in Java, Spring, and related tools, plus strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• BE or BTech or master's in related fields with IT/CS specialization.
• 2–4+ years of hands-on experience in Java-based backend development.
• Expertise in authentication/authorization tech and RESTful services.

Responsibilities

• Develop all AIXS applications and ensure high availability.
• Enhance and integrate with line-of-business applications.

Process Overview

The Global Information Security (GIS) is responsible for protecting Bank information systems, confidential and proprietary data, and customer information. The team develops the Bank’s Information Security strategy and policy, manages the Information Security program and identifies and addresses vulnerabilities, Develops, deploys and manages a risk-based controls portfolio, Manages and operates a global security operations center that monitors, detects and responds to cybersecurity incidents.

Job Description

The individual will be part of Identity Authentication & Access technology (IAAT) – Extended Services team which involves in development, enhancements and integration of authentication and authorization applications using Java, J2EE, Web services (REST & SOAP), Spring framework and EJB’s. Team is also responsible for maintaining application up and running in lower and production environments. AIXS team supports clients to have their applications integrated with IAAT XS applications which expose its services to enterprise‑wide users, clients and vendors.

• Software configuration management
• Knowledge on application build process
• Releases into lower environments
• Driving production releases and changes
• Providing L3 Production support for all AIXS applications
• Troubleshooting lower environment issues
• Providing integrations support for clients
• Respond to business partner inquiries for status, consultation and problem resolution

Requirements

Education: B.E. / B. Tech/M.E. /M. Tech/B.Sc./M.Sc./BCA/MCA (prefer IT/CS specialization)

Certifications, If Any: Not Mandatory

Experience Range: 2 – 4+ years

Foundational skills

• Strong skills in design and developing robust Java, RESTAPI, and Micro Services. Proficiency in Spring / SpringBoot.
• Hands‑on experience in any Identity & Authentication technologies including OAuth2/OIDC, SAML, FIDO/WebAuthn, PKI, and LDAP.
• Knowledge of digital credentials and digital wallet
• Experience in UI development with React or similar framework
• Experience in Oracle database with SQL and PL/SQL queries
• Skilled in using CI/CD tool set (JIRA/Bitbucket/Jenkins/Artifactory/Ansible)
• Proficiency in development in Unix/Linux environment
• Experience in Web servers, Application servers
• Understanding business requirements
• Experience in Unit tests writing

Desired skills

• Working knowledge of digital credentials and digital wallet. For first couple of weeks, we can ask TA to share profile with this experience as mandatory. Based on the profile availability, we can make it optional in subsequent weeks.
• Experience in IAM platforms, such as Ping One, Ping Federate, Hypr, Okta, ForgeRock.
• Familiarity with containerization, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker.
• Exposure to mobile development
• Experience in Camunda and process orchestration
• Exposure to cryptography and programming with HSM
