Job summary

Oriole Networks in Bengaluru, India is seeking Software Engineers to build embedded and host-side software for a high-speed optical networking platform connecting GPU systems to advanced photonics technology.

The role involves software–hardware co-design, NIC lifecycle management, and Linux/RDMA driver development with a strong emphasis on performance, reliability and security. Collaboration across India and the UK is part of the scope.

Qualifications

• Embedded development on ARM/RISC‑V/Nios/MicroBlaze required.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Linux kernel and Python automation.
• Experience with PCIe, DMA and memory management.
• Hands-on RDMA/RoCE or InfiniBand experience.
• Experience building distributed control planes for production systems.
• Strong observability, performance analysis and CI/CD skills.

Job description

We are seeking Software Engineers to build embedded and host-side software for a high-speed optical networking platform connecting GPU systems to advanced photonics technology. Working across teams in India and the UK, the role covers software–hardware co-design, NIC lifecycle management, optical control-plane services, Linux and RDMA drivers, observability and production support at scale, with a strong focus on performance, reliability and security.

Responsibilities:

• Define scalable, secure and reliable architectures through software–hardware co-design
• Develop embedded NIC software from board bring-up through production deployment and lifecycle management
• Build optical-network control-plane software for topology, paths, resources, policy and fault management at scale
• Develop Linux PCIe/NIC drivers and host-side RDMA kernel and user-space software
• Deliver secure tools, daemons and services for configuration, upgrades, telemetry, diagnostics and recovery
• Drive automation, validation, performance optimisation and end-to-end troubleshooting

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong embedded development experience on ARM, RISC‑V, Nios, MicroBlaze or similar platforms
• Proficiency in C/C++, Linux kernel and user-space development, plus Python automation
• Knowledge of PCIe, DMA, interrupts, memory management and user–kernel interfaces
• Hands‑on experience with RDMA/RoCE or InfiniBand, RDMA Core, verbs and zero‑copy data paths
• Experience building distributed control planes and secure, resilient system services for production at scale
• Strong skills in observability, performance analysis, troubleshooting, automated testing and CI/CD
