As part of the Desktop Engineering Team at Whatfix, you’ll work on complex algorithms, automation APIs, system level APIs, performance engineering, and difficult optimization problems. Every problem we solve on the desktop has the potential to be a patentable idea, which is why we have many patents in our portfolio. You will be part of a team that works with C#, JavaScript, and Java, explores machine learning, and builds solutions that are used by many customers.
Key Responsibility

- Independently responsible for the entire lifecycle of features including design, development, and deployment.

- Improves code structure and architecture to support testability and maintainability.
- Writes, co‑writes, and reviews design documentation.
- Is highly proficient in one or more technical areas.
- Ownership
- Prioritizes and values unowned or undesirable work that enables the team to move faster.
- Collaboration
- Works with the team and adjacent teams to solve problems, escalating broader scope issues.
- Guides other teams in design choices for code that interacts with this team’s code.
- Team Building
- Assists and teaches other engineers on an individual basis.
- Participates in the hiring process, interview engineering candidates, and contributes to engineering blogs.

Your Qualifications
- An engineering degree (BE/BTech/MTech) in Computer Science.
- 8+ years of experience writing code and solving technical challenges.
Must‑Have
- Software Engineer at E6 level with strong knowledge of C# and good experience with JavaScript.
- Familiarity with building desktop applications is a bonus.
- Hands‑on experience building SaaS applications using Java, C# or JavaScript.
- Experience in SaaS companies, products, or startups.
- Testing developed features by writing unit tests and debugging QA issues, owning the entire SDLC of a feature or product.
- Writing reusable code following MVC pattern and SOLID principles.
- Collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams (product management, UX/UI designers) to ensure timely delivery without compromising quality.
- Knowledge of software development best practices, design patterns, system design and architectural principles.
- Ensuring quality assurance throughout all phases from conception to deployment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Fast learner and team player.
Good to Have
- Experience with ReactJS, Swift, or Objective‑C.
