Software Engineer

The Opportunity

We are looking for a talented engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our core acceleration technology. This role involves enhancing our core multi-dimensional indexing implementation for Data Lakehouses. You’ll collaborate closely with the team to introduce groundbreaking features that are unique in the market.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance our indexing technology using Java, Scala, and Rust.
• Build support for open table formats such as Iceberg.
• Maintain and improve product quality by resolving defects and creating robust test cases and frameworks.
• Explore other areas of interest—in a startup, there’s always more to do and learn.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: A minimum of three years in professional software development.
• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
  • Familiarity with database internals.
  • Experience with Data Lakehouse formats (e.g., Delta Lake, Apache Hudi, Apache Iceberg) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of storage I/O is a bonus.
  • Proficiency in Java, Scala, and Rust, with adaptability to work in other languages as needed.
  • Experience with query engines like Apache Spark, Trino, or emerging ones like DataFusion.
• Soft Skills:
  • Proficiency in English (our working language).
  • Organized, autonomous, and proactive approach to work.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and share knowledge.
