Job summary

Zoom Video Communications is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to architect our data foundation from ingestion to semantic layer. You will partner with business and AI teams to design production-grade, self-service data systems enabling reliable analytics at scale and deterministic LLM querying.

You will work within a team focused on core data infrastructure powering analytics and AI across the organization, balancing long-term health with rapid iteration.

Qualifications

About the Team

We build the core data infrastructure powering analytics and AI across the organization. Our team operates at the intersection of systems engineering, domain modeling, and client delivery. We prioritize long-term technical health alongside rapid iteration

Responsibilities

Designing and building scalable, fault-tolerant data pipelines that transform raw source data into trusted, well-documented datasets across batch and streaming patterns. Owning data quality and observability end-to-end - implementing monitoring, alerting, testing, and documentation for all pipelines and models . Building and evolving the semantic and metric layer, establishing context and guardrails that let both human analysts and AI agents query data reliably . Architecting well-modeled datasets applying dimensional modeling, Data Vault, or One Big Table principles with sound grain definition and key strategy . Engineering enterprise-scale data solutions leveraging Generative AI frameworks (Codex, Claude Code, Snowflake Cortex) to accelerate development and intelligent analytics

What we’re looking for

Have 6+ years of software engineering experience (or equivalent practical experience) with substantial focus on data architecture or system design. Demonstrate proven ability to architect or design complex data models (grain selection, key strategy, schema design) and scale data platforms in multi-tenant environments. Show fluency in Python, Java, or Scala with solid software engineering fundamentals. Possess deep expertise in data modeling paradigms: dimensional modeling, Data Vault, or One Big Table. Partner directly with business teams, product leaders, or external clients to translate ambiguous requirements into technical solutions. Have experience with batch and streaming pipeline architectures including multi-region replication
