Job summary

NielsenIQ is seeking a Software Engineer in Chennai to join our Technology team. You will design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and AI solutions on Snowflake and cloud platforms, using Python, SQL, and modern tooling.

You will work on an enterprise data warehouse, implement CI/CD and IaC, ensure data quality, monitoring, and lineage, and mentor junior engineers as needed.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of experience in Data Engineering with strong expertise in Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake including performance tuning, data modeling, and administration.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP and cloud-native data services.
• Experience building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, CDC/SCD frameworks, and orchestration workflows.
• Solid understanding of Data Warehousing, Dimensional Modeling, Kimball, and Data Vault concepts.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Terraform/Bicep, and DevSecOps security practices.
• Exposure to AI/GenAI technologies, data quality frameworks, and automated testing tools.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills with mentoring experience

As a Software Engineer, you'll be part of a team of smart, highly skilled technologists who are passionate about learning and supporting cutting-edge technologies such as Snowflake Tasks, Streams, Pipes (Snowpipe), External Tables, components: Azure: Blob Storage, ADLS, Functions, ADF, Purview.

Design, develop, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, and Snowflake.

Build and maintain batch, real-time, and event-driven data processing solutions on cloud platforms.
