Job summary

Motorola Solutions Bengaluru seeks a skilled software engineer to drive internal tooling for the Unified UX Engineering team. You will architect and build tools and test frameworks to streamline development and testing, while rapidly prototyping new features within existing products.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, write clean, efficient code, and leverage AI-assisted development tools to speed iterations and deliver high-quality software tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 2-5 yrs of software development experience in the IT industry.
• Strong coding proficiency in C/C++, with familiarity in Python, Node.js, or C#.
• Strong CS fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
• Full-stack development experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS and RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of Git workflows, Docker containerization, cloud/CI-CD basics, and automated testing/debugging tools.
• Hands-on experience with AI development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Gemini, Claude, Cursor).
• Understanding of SDLC and agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical, proactive troubleshooting, and independent working skills.

Department Overview

Unified User Experience Engineering (UXE) Develop and advance technology to ensure 3GPP standard compliance for Motorola's Unified Communication Product suite. The team develops various software tools and capabilities to facilitate the integration of 3GPP defined Mission Critical Services(MCS) Standard based features for Various partners/customers worldwide. Work with customers integrate with MSI Mission Critical Server using 3GPP Standards based interfaces for a vast set of features and functionalities including MCPTT, MCData, MCVIDEO and MC Common Services ID Management, Group, Group/Config Management, Location Services.

Job Description Role Overview:

Key Focus Areas: Developer Experience (DevEx / DX) Engineering: Architect, design, and build custom internal software tools to streamline workflows for internal Development and Test teams. Rapid Feature Prototyping: Perform fast proof-of-concept (PoC) development and prototyping to evaluate new feature requirements on existing products. Process Automation: Identify inefficiencies in manual engineering workflows and implement automated tool solutions.

Key Responsibilities Tool Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust internal software tools, utilities, and test frameworks to support internal Development and Testing teams. Prototyping & Feasibility Studies: Perform rapid prototyping and PoC development for new feature requirements integrated into existing core products. Workflow Automation: Identify gaps in existing manual development/testing workflows and design automated tooling to optimize team efficiency. Clean Code & Architecture: Write high-quality, clean, efficient, and well‑documented code adhering to modern engineering standards. Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with developers, testers, and product teams to translate engineering needs into clear software requirements and deliverables. Debugging & Problem Solving: Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software defects across internal applications and workflows. Code Reviews & Quality: Participate in team code reviews, uphold quality standards, and contribute to internal knowledge‑sharing repositories. Modern Tooling & AI Adoption: Utilize modern software development methodologies and AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to speed up iteration and prototyping velocity.

Basic Requirements
